Ok, well you know we'll be at the house, of course, so if you do want to catch up with whoever's out just give us a ring.

...my lungs.
I quit smoking for you and this is how you repay me?
(Also, unrelated, but why is everyone drunk at half past five in the afternoon? Ah yes, I remember...I live in St Leonards. Lovely.)

Don't tell me you aren't a wee bit jealous... drunk at 5.30 on a Monday? Brilliant, they must have a great day in the pub.

bbbrrrrrhhh ann widdicombe go away please. and i don't know if anyone else saw the bbc news yesterday evening but they did seem to be going 'a bit fox' during an item about the declining numbers of tigers there seemed to be a definite implication that it was the fault of 'those chinese', specifically the new rich elite chinese. it wasn't overtly anti-chinese but had enough of a slant to prick the ears in a slightly concerned manner.

We had a threatening letter from British Gas yesterday, saying that they were going to come round with the police and disconnect our electricity for not paying the bill...
I phoned them and told them that they were welcome to try, but that they don't supply our electricity, and at any rate, we have a key meter for both gas and electric, thereby making it impossible for us to run up a bill.
Much arse-scratching (on their part) later, the third person that I talked to suggested that I just binned the letter, as "The postman's obviously put it through the wrong door..."
Me: "But it's got my address on it..!"
So await with interest stories down the pub about the dawn raid conducted by British Gas and the local constabulary to disconnect a service that they don't supply us with!
Fuckmonkeys.

That's about the same level of management-efficiency as we have to put up with as well. We're forever trying to prompt and pre-empt.

Chevy Chase.
Am currently on the computer with the express purpose of avoiding seeing him perform on the Secret Policeman's Ball.
He's a pie-faced gurning buffoon, and he makes me want to break things.
That is all.

i am entitled to zero in the way of maternity rights from cancer research uk. thats no maternity pay (which would have been a grand sum of about £150 pounds ever) and no job to go back to. motherfuckers.
letter (on compliments slip sent to me) 'as you are not a permanent employee working regular hours you will not be entitled to the cruk maternity scheme'
i have been working regular hours (paid) for coming up 2 years, so thought i should look into this.
relevant legal information 'if the agreement between the employer and the worker specifically states there is no mutual obligation, the court cannot imply that there is such a mutual obligation from what has happened in practice between the parties.'
contract wording '...there is no obligation on our part to offer you any work. Equally, there is no obligation on yout part to accept any work when it is offered to you...'
ladies and gentlemen i present you the latest in 'how to get screwed as a low paid worker'. i was expecting to get shafted by cruk, yet still feel rather let down that i have shitty low paid jobs because i do not have the confidence to do otherwise, even calling into cab made me really quite sick (it's all the justifying oneself to a stranger). i'd best stay at home after this child, i really don't think i can cope with dodgy employers anymore. i trust i mentioned the case where i had to throw a big stinky tantrum to get a lunchbreak, whilst pregnant, at my standing up for nine hours job.
and to think my mother asked 'oh what do mean work is terrible'.

That sucks.
Isn't it sad that an organisation that one would assume is actually quite a decent one (e.g. actually looking for a cure for cancer) still pulls the same shitty employer tricks out of the bag as all the other shysters. Wouldn't have put that one past C*mbe Haven...
I'm sorry they screwed you over, mouse. x

The cunts from the IT department at this college. They put a fucking filter on all the computers that stops you going to Myspace. What the fuck am I gonna do now? How am I gonna escape to a different world pretending that i am not here? Will I have to face the reality of being a catering manager and supervisor who has a computer in his office rather than the previous status of "musician who happens to be surrounded by a college when he's on myspace"? Shit, it's gonna turn into a JOB now. Fuck fuck fuck

Bad luck, Alfie, but it's common practice! We don't have a computer in the shop (which is why I'm in Bexhill Library again for my lunch hour). We do, however, have a completely insane Supervisor who appears not to be talking to anyone today (which is why I'm in Bexhill Library again for my lunch hour). Help!

The weather. Had to get in a freezing car at 7, pitch black, raining. And an hour earlier i was warm, asleep and comfortably hugged, with the cat at the bottom of the bed! Life is unfair. Why do such moments of delight have to be brought to an abrupt end? Also i am pissed off with the girls at work. They have been going on about "I'm a celebrity etc" for hours. Hate that shit, it's just SAD, just as bad as BIg Brother

Well, it was me who started the thread, so I must be the moaniest!

Mouse, you win by virtue of actually having something in the way of injustice to whinge about. I'm sure you must sxomehow have been misadvised. The recent regs were supposed to bring about relative parity between temporary/short term contract workers and permanent employees - to eliminate exactly this kind of shit. Let me talk to UNISON about it and see if there's anything. xo.

Tell me about it, i hated the old one. He was driving me insane! That's what Hastings does to you, i realized. Keeps you from doing better things because there's so much to do, which is not necessarely the best you can do. In my case, it wasn't. I have a very addictive personality and if i lived in Hastings, i'd still be wasted every night and day, and postponing everything because of hangovers!
