Ella's adopted two seagulls, which she's called Mandy and Marmite. They hang about outside the kitchen window, and she feeds them leftovers while she's cooking. The cats don't seem to mind them, and they don't seem to mind the cats.

jeffries babies?
our silly seagull has got a partner, but the pigeons (loads of 'em) are trying to take that roof over, really, it's more exciting than big brother.

Memo to pet owners: If you want to get one of your pets a check-up in a hurry, try and get to the vets before 7pm. Luke got bit on the ear. Out-of-hours fee (before medicines etc) £69.95! Plus £23.00 shots, antibiotics etc. You might not see me out & about for a while.

Poor puss. And poor Stu's wallet. But you can't not, can you? Hope it heals well...
(NB Charlie is the only cat I've ever met who managed to give himself a ragged ear- we're still puzzling over that one! Makes him look hard though*...)

Our kitchen is so cold in the morning, there was steam coming off Leia's cat pooh. Bleaugh!

Another poo post, I'm afraid: This morning I had to rummage through the pot of the rubber plant in the lounge, picking out Luke's poo with tissues and a plastic bag. Talk about an Unlucky Dip!

Luke behaves like a bright toddler when he wants breakfast in the morning these days. If the alarm clocks go off and we don't get up straight away he'll jump on the bed; step on our heads; run round the room; push stuff onto me from the bedside table; rattle the fairy lights; open the curtains... Leia stays asleep.

i may have already mentioned this (couldn't find it, so hoping not) barney now has two chickens (emma and naomi). we went to visit them on friday, i've never stroked a chicken before. paula, do you think dougs almost constant (really not as bad as it used to be) barking may hamper their egg-laying capacity?

what they really need is some nice warm sunny weather, and longer daylight hours... thats what keeps them laying... we.ve only had about 10 eggs all winter... serves us right for being so smug when they didnt stop last year!

Luke has now learnt to drum. There's an empty tuppaware-style container on the chest of drawers in the bedroom (toy packaging, in fact), which, if he's unable to get me up by punching me in the face, he now drums his front feet on, so that I'll feed him (or, as with this morning, feed him a different flavour cat food to that which I've already put down at 5:45AM) He did get under the covers with us after though, bless.

5.45am, thats when our cat Lenix starts reading magazines, he turns the pages as loudly as he can to wake us. If this fails he will knock over all the bins in the house.

Charlie has been rifling through my handbag for the past half hour, and has just pulled out my purse and run off with it. Funny little man.

I've got a few quite good photos from Hayley's album launch to put online, but Facebook's playing up at the moment. In the meantime, let Luke and Leia entertain you with their version of Waiting For Godot.

Afraid to say Luke's still not very well... We're really not sure if he's going to get better, so, well, fingers crossed for him anyway.
