1, i would appear to have lost all ability to sleep. i have been awake and usually up before six for days. i don't like. 2, there is a mother of a black cloud stretching from pevensey to the other side of fairlight(all geographical locations are approximate). 3, said clouds are moving rather rapidly, which whilst possibly reducing the likelihood of imminent rain are the result of strong wind which means... 4, i can't cycle to work. i like my monday cycle to work, bizarrely i also like my exercise for the week(that's it). and it ain't gonna happen. it is particularly windy. 5, work will be dull and quiet. 6, i'm not actually pissed off, not sure where that barrage of complaints came from... aaah yes the wind.

The weather has turned, yep. And this is my first day back at work for a week, oh joy. I'm holding out the vain hope that the rest of the staff got on with each other so badly while I was away that they'll have walked-out by now (not the women though). But it's just gonna be the same as ever...
[Oh gawd, I've just remembered it's just me, the supervisor and the manager all day. I've yet to discover the polite way to say "Fuck off out of my face, and never talk to me again"]

I saw the Kasabian video last night - it was actually very impressive and it took me a few minutes to realise that the reason for that was to detract from the fact that the song is a kettle of wank. By that time I then realised I was being duped into watching an impressive, expensive piece of shit for a piece of shit band that have run out of song ideas where they had very few in the first place. But I still watched the bit where the band got blown up and the lead singer shot. Wankers.

Did a Hedley video the other week, luckily the song was so forgettable that even the 100th playback did not make it stick in my head. Maybe working on generic rock videos is better than catchy pop songs. Had a year once where Tom Jones' "Its Not Unusual" was used to help the actors bounce around in front of the camera. No offence to the famous welshman but it nearly drove me mad.

I don't like the polar bear -shaped ice-cream dispenser outside the Deluxe. It's intrusive, and has the voice of a middle aged man with lung disease.

god it's horrific, as is the 'make your own pop video in five minutes' one, although there is potential for much fun and embarrassment.

Back to the original theme of this thread - I'm pissed off with ABC News - Person of the week Laura Needham who has visited Lebanon to rescue the dogs left homeless after Israeli airstrikes, on her own dime. For fucks sake. Is there not a more humanitarian story?
In other news Herman Hesse has admitted to having been recruited by the SS. What next ? Jonathan Livingstone Seagull recruited by the BNP?

Today I'm pissed off with the fact that my finger appears to have rotted under my favourite ring (no puns, pls).
Quite apart from the fact that I like the ring, I also like the finger! I use it for typing and everything. Bah.
(Nb: Flaking digits are very good for grossing out your loved ones, however. Just a quick "Look at that, it's disgusting!" will have them heading for the hills faster than you can say 'Leprosy'...)

me me me. i have become overly nervous about starting school on monday, to the extent of seriously considering not going. but that would be silly so i decided to go out and take some photos, proceeded to ruin a full roll of film, scratch my ankle, forget to buy food, not complete all tasks set for the week. cross carrie

I know the feeling exactly- "I really want to do this, but...people! And...stuff that I might not know how to use! And...aaaargh!"
But you'll kick yourself if you don't do it, and that'll hurt your ankle even more!
Seriously- it's a chance to learn how to do what you love, and are good at doing, better, which has to be cool?
And I've never met an unpleasant photographer yet...
If it finishes early enough and you want to meet up for a post-class gibber, let me know. x

right. i take it all back. the nhs is shit shit shit... 1. having thought i had registered at roebuck surgery a good six weeks ago, they don't seem to have me on their system. 2. just how did i make an appointment if not registered at said surgery ('sorry miss kennedy can't find you ,could you just give us your address?'), jesus no wonder they complain about wasted time, try it. 3. my maternity notes (the only record of my pregnancy, that i should carry at all times) should apparentley have been given to me a month ago at my scan. surprise, they weren't. 4. midwife continues to take blood from wrong arm(i have mentioned being left handed) and would seem to think this is my first pregnancy(again have corrected).

Direct quote from Gordon Brown's 'Meeting the terrorist challenge' speech today:
"...Within Britain the debate that Jack Straw has encouraged about the veil will continue."
Say again? Do you not mean "...the unholy row Jack Straw inadvertantly caused by opening his mouth and letting his belly rumble?"
Sheesh.

And did you see The Sun's front-cover yesterday: the gist of which was they sent an undercover reporter onto a flight wearing a burkah, and airport security didn't ask her to remove her veil when they checked her passport? Not that The Sun wishes to imply that anyone wearing a burkah is a probable terrorist, of course... (Nb: despite my clumsy satire the other day, it's fair to point out that John Prescott has come out against Jack Straw's comments.)

Are you sure the burn disc button hasn't just migrated to the bottom right hand corner of the window as it has on my mac.

Don't be a dick. It's still got a burn function. Create a playlist, go to the file menu and click burn playlist to disk.

Hastings Borough Council, again. We've just received our Council Tax Final Demand (for the full amount): the Council Tax is due 1st October, the Final Demand was sent out on the 9th October. Seems a bit bloody quick! My minimum-wage job pays me every week; my rent's due at the start of each month; so it's just not possible for me to pay the Council Tax on time. I still get it paid every month though. 9 days late and they threaten us with a Court Summons! I guess I'll just have to write something similar to this posting when I pop a cheque through their door tomorrow morning (missing out the bit where I call them money-grabbing bastards, of course)...

aah, but at least you can take drugs to ease the pain. it's a lasting bug, i have been 'better' for over a week, but the lethargy, headaches and the feeling of having just smoked 68 b&h are becoming a part of day to day life.
we will however be out tonight

You little ray of sunshine, you! (Also, 68 B&H? That's very specific...)
Will be out if I can persuade my body to cooperate. So hope to sneeze on you later...
