A new and slightly spurious chart experiment! Updated every week, or not, a Top Ten of tunes by us and our friends, based mainly on YouTube views as they're easy to measure, but other factors (e.g. a sudden deluge of Bandcamp downloads) could come into play. One track per EP/album release only (highest number of views takes precedence), unless specifically promoted as single releases in their own right. Where multiple versions of one track are eligible, highest viewed/downloaded version counts. Tracks may be added or deleted from the Top Ten entirely at the whim of the compiler (i.e. me). Date of YouTube upload added to each new track for ease of (my) reference.
Chart #1, week commencing Sat 13th Aug 2022:
1. Duplo - 'Dumbfound' (Alternate version) [UPLOADED 5th July 22] 2. Stay Out Forever - 'Cars' (Stendec's 1st mix by Rashamon) [UPLOADED 16th July 22] 3. Some kind of Bryan Adams style rule of removing tracks that have been hanging around the chart forever, or an Official UK Top 40 style rule of limiting the stream count of tracks after a while, may come into play at some point, depending on how I feel about it if the chart isn't naturally fluctuating much.
Chart #2, week commencing Sat 20th Aug 2022:

Bottom shelf of Woolworths (chart drop-out zone). Most recently dropped ex-chart tunes appear at the top of the playlist: if more than one track has dropped out the chart in a particular week, the track with the longest chart run appears above its rivals.
- LoBoom - 'Win One Lose One'

Chart #7, week commencing Sat 24th Sep 2022:
NEW CHART RULES COME INTO PLAY (as otherwise the entire Top Ten was full of non-movers) :
Each track in the Top Ten is deducted one play per week it has remained in the chart (i.e. if a track enters its second week, it loses one play) in order to off-set the inevitable longevity of older uploads. [Furthermore, tracks uploaded on my channel between 1st July and 13th August 2022 (the period between my initial audio uploads and the first Top Ten) lose additional points depending on the length of time they'd been uploaded prior to the first chart collation).]
Also (and I should have thought of this earlier), if videos have a tied number of views after the above rule has been enforced, the most recently uploaded track claims the higher chart position.
Therefore, this week's Top Ten is as follows:
1. == Frontier Telegraph - 'Introninto' 2. == Duplo - 'Dumbfound' (Alternate version) 3. == Stay Out Forever - 'Cars' (Stendec's 1st mix by Rashamon) 4. == Duplo - 'Something Interesting' (Tron mix) 5. Chart #9, week commencing Sat 8th Oct 2022
nb: Further chart backlog update: After 8 weeks on the Top Ten, the aforementioned Bryan Adams/Wet Wet Wet move comes into play, whereby a track will have double its number of weeks on the chart deducted from its viewing tally, increasing to triple points deduction after 16 weeks, quadruple points deduction after 24 weeks etc. This may result in drastic chart shake-ups every couple of months, it'll certainly result in more maths for me, but it'll liven things up! As follows:
1. == Frontier Telegraph - 'Introninto' 2. UP Duplo - 'Something Interesting' (Tron mix) 3. DN Stay Out Forever - 'Cars' (Stendec's 1st mix by Rashamon) 4. Chart #10, week commencing Sat 15th Oct 2022
Congratulations to Rashamon with a recent surge in views for 'Apical Reverie' from his new, second album 'A Return To Form' (released 30th September). Even with some longevity view-weighting (under the 'view count reduced by the number of weeks elapsed between original upload and the compiling of the first Tiger Tunes Top Ten' chart rule) it's almost This Week's Highest New Entry, pipped to the title only by the belated, longer-burning recognition of 'Visceral' by Aaltonen (i.e. Martin from Vile Electrodes), which I should have been monitoring the streams of earlier.
Incidentally, having now flagged up the existence of the Tiger Tunes Top Ten on my social media, I'm also introducing a rule that a track has to have been uploaded within the past six months to qualify for the chart. This clears the way for new music by friends' acts associated at one point with Dizzy Tiger Music Co but also with a popular following to enter the Top Ten without suddenly skewing the current Top Ten by suddenly including their older, highly-viewed videos, e.g. older videos from Oli Spleen, Vile Electrodes. It would also mean the oldest upload that has charted thus far - Rashamon's 'Fear Destroys The Soul' from 18th April - would cease to qualify for the Top Ten from next week, with the Aaltonen track following suit a couple of weeks later.
1. == Frontier Telegraph - 'Introninto' 2. NW Aaltonen - 'Visceral' [UPLOADED 1st May 2022] 3. DN Duplo - 'Something Interesting' (Tron mix) 4. == Duplo - 'Dumbfound' (Alternate version) 5. Should a future surge in views enable an ineligible video from the Bottom Shelf to reach double this figure (i.e. 72 views in Rashamon's case) the track will become eligible for the chart again for a further six months, with all previous weightings and deductions reapplied from that point.

Chart #12, week commencing Sat 29th Oct 2022
It's another chart-busting brand new Number One thanks to our old ex-Regular John friends Wytch Pycknyck and the new video for their actual physical single 'Don't Touch The Skunk'! Reckon this might top the charts for a while actually.
Incidentally, it feels a little unfair to knock Aaltonen out of the chart next week after such a short stay simply because I'd not been monitoring the track's view count previously, so to balance this I'm adding a new rule: If an older track (although still one uploaded within the past six months) enter the chart late because I'd not noticed its view count or eligibility before, an additional stay of chart execution will be applied, whereby it's eligibility will be extended by half the number of weeks (rounded up to the nearest whole figure) between its original upload date and the date at which I belatedly noticed it had enough views to enter the Top Ten. So, in the case of 'Visceral' here, 23 weeks elapsed between the compiling of the first Top Ten and the week I noticed its view count, therefore it s granted an additional 12 weeks of chart eligibility beyond the six month cut-off date, i.e. it will now cease to be eligible from 24th January 2023.

Frontier Telegraph's 'My 1st Computer' re-enters the Top Ten this week after a month away. This makes it its tenth week on the chart, thereby eligible for a nine week (i.e. 18 point) deduction, but rather than stick it in and straight out all at once (too complicated maths-wise) we'll give it a stay of execution and carry over the additional points deduction until next week.

Chart #17, week commencing Sat 3rd December 2022
It's a brand new entry this week as Rashamon's 'Sudden Moves' single (the final track lifted from his 'A Return To Form' album) charts very decently. It's preceding single 'Apical Reverie' drops out the chart having fallen foul of the six-month upload rule, while two Frontier Telegraph tracks gain re-entry, at the expense of two more tracks Mikey had in the Top Ten. Chart #18, week commencing Sat 10th December 2022
Another week and another new entry, a (reissued) seasonal offering from Vile Electrodes. I think Christmas-themed tracks might have to drop out the chart when we get to January but - in true Official Charts style - make themselves re-eligible for the Top Ten every December if they're still getting views. Coincidentally, the Vile Electrodes tune serves to knock Martin VE's Aaltonen project down one place. I'd say the race is on for the Tiger Tunes Top Ten Christmas Number One but I'm not sure anyone's really going to shift Wytch Pycknyck just yet. Still, I've recorded my own Christmas single just in case, arf.
1. == Wytch Pycknck - 'Don't Touch The Skunk' 2. == Frontier Telegraph - 'Introninto' 3. NW Vile Electrodes - 'Ghosts Of Christmas' (Original Wall Of Sound version) [UPLOADED 5th Dec 2022] 4. Chart #19, week commencing Sat 17th December 2022
Lots happening in the chart this week, including a complete overhaul of last week's chart after I got the sums wrong, not that anyone noticed. Anyway! Vile Electrodes' Xmas song climbs to number two and my own Stay Out Forever Xmas single debuts at number five. Meanwhile, Duplo's remix of 'Twisted Beautiful Turmoil' makes an unexpected late re-entry, even though it will soon be ineligible for the Top Ten come the New Year, while the version of our old track 'Dumbfound' finally drops out of the running. Ok! Christmas Number One chart battle is on!

Chart #22, week commencing Sat 7th January 2023
Right then, four songs enter the Chart Ineligible list this week: three of them for being Christmas songs in January, the fourth (Duplo's 'Dumbfound') for breaking the six months since upload barrier. In their place come new entries for Vile Electrodes (again) with their New Year's themed song 'Can't Help But Wanting' and my own ham-fisted instrumental version of the 'YouTube Tune' what I wrote, plus a couple of re-entries. As it's been six months since I started compiling data for the Top Ten we'll gradually start seeing more tracks outstay their welcome and become ineligible as the weeks roll on from here. Hopefully enough new music will get uploaded to YouTube to take their place, initial signs for 2023 are looking positive in that regard. So on we go.

Chart #26, week commencing Sat 4th February 2023
After six months of compiling the Top Ten, it's time to shake up the penalty points system to shift the chart around a bit (this week's sole new entry is Oli Spleen's reissued 'Fag Machine', with the rest of the Top Ten still not moving). So the new plan going forward for a while is a cumulative 10 point deduction for every week on the chart beyond a track's debut week. I'm going to backdate this new system from next week for all the tracks featured to date and still eligible, and see what happens.
1. == Wytch Pycknck - 'Don't Touch The Skunk' 2. == Sarah Janes - 'Doing It Gently For Years' 3. == The Big Believe - 'Life Without Thrills' 4. == Vile Electrodes - 'Can't Help But Wanting' 5. == Sarah Janes - 'Beggars Can't Be Choosers Anymore' 6. == Neil Martin - 'Koala Jam' 7. == Frontier Telegraph - 'Introninto' 8. == Rashamon - 'Sudden Moves' 9. == Rashamon - 'Fire Watch' 10. I've finally decided to bite the bullet and rank the Top Ten on actual weekly YouTube views (this just means using a lot more pages in my notebook) rather than weighting the total number of views of a track from length since uploaded, as that wasn't really changing the chart much and certainly wasn't reflecting what was actually getting watched.
I've only started logging all views from today, so this week's chart simply contains all the same songs as last week's but positioned according to their view increase (which, for last week's Top Ten calculations, I HAD logged). The same Six Month Ineligibility rule (and the seasonal rule for Christmas songs) still applies. Tied numbers of views again will mean that the more recently uploaded track takes the higher chart position.
A note on YouTube Topic channels: These are too numerous and confused to keep a proper track of, so (again as of next week) tracks from Topic channels alone will not count (this currently only affects Mild Card). However, if an artist's channel's video also has a corresponding Topic channel upload, its number of views will be combined (in this week's chart this would be the case for these particular tracks by Wytch Pycknyck, Vile Electrodes and Oli Spleen, although neither The Big Believe nor Rashamon, despite both artists also having Topic channels).
What I am now expecting to see is that newly uploaded videos will jump to the top end of the chart each week before settling down, just like the real world charts. There may yet be requirements for more rule fiddling as the weeks unfold, I can't rule that out!

Chart #30, week commencing Sat 4th March 2023
The first Top Ten compiled from actual weekly views rather than weighted cumulative views throws a handful of new tracks into the chart and loses some that had been up there pretty much since the start of 2023. Wytch Pycknyck are still the leaders though (perhaps boosted by their Fat Tuesday appearance review on Louder Than War earlier this week.
