The Hamms - 'Maximum Wage' TEXT: Issy Jackson Stone - 'The Lost Hour' [Original proposal: ] One of our most long-standing projects, 'An Evening Of Quite Music' has been proposed as a release on Coastline Records or Dizzy Tiger Music Co for over 20 years. The original idea was that one hour of improvised, quiet music should be created when the clocks go back in the autumn, in that hour (starting at 2am British Summer Time, which immediately winds back to 1am Greenwich Mean Time) that occurs twice during the night. This nocturnal album will be recorded one year, possibly this year, if the mood is right. As an aside, it should be noted that, serendipitously, the time slot allocated to me by the Spirit Of Gravity to perform in their room at the Phoenix Arts Centre during Brighton's White Night festival in 2008 was indeed that 'extra' hour. On the night, I performed a playback of the cassette release' Sacrifice' (DTMC12) with added autumn leaf and beach pebble improvisation, which was partially videoed and uploaded to YouTube, with the soundtrack later extracted for the Erosion One EP 'Plays 'Sacrifice'' (DTMC54).
