hi to stu and carrie and caroline and michael and anyone else that might be interested, its a bit of a cheat to send this and not write letters to you all but... just thought id send a quick note to say hope old town week and carnival and all that as much fun as ever. was just wondering if this board is actually having the opposite effect than i thought it would and is actually making me feel a bit sad and miss speaking to you all in person... however im hoping that camel rock!!! will make up for that !! brace yrself lee! it was only really when my boss suggested making long term plans that i realised i was here to stay although i knew that already... but scilly is lovely and dont want to be anywhere else in the world right now... besides i've got an awful lot of fish that needs eating! anyway take care y'all

Yeah, miss you too, going to be an age 'til we get to catch up, grrr. Carnival was bit disappointing really, though there were some synapse-frazzling fireworks after. Have fun with Lee next week, see you eventually! x x

I like fish - so thats a bonus...!
This will also be a good test to see how well I do travelling on my own before I set off through the wilderness of Europe and Asia next year.
Oh Stu - I went to the Optimo night with Charlie and it was ace, although I got very drunk and missed Optimos set. But I had a greasy gutbuster brekkie at the all night diner at 1am so it was all good.
And for the original train of thought - This message board makes me happy as the last time I was in Hastings was for Mike and Carolines wedding and the last time I saw Paula was then. So I get to catch up with all of you without having to actually go anywhere. So I'm happy in the knowledge that I am a lazy bastard.
If somebody can get Duncan on here then my social life on the internet will be complete! ;D

It's a shame Duncan's not reading these boards at the moment: if ever a man would be pleased to hear about the Disastronaut news it would be him, huge Joan Of Ass fan that he is, ha ha. Paula: one of the final carnival events has been opposite the house today: Colin Bailey hosting an afternoon of music in Swan Gardens (pretty much 3 hours of Colin sitting on a chair playing his distinctive tunes to passers-by. 3 hours!) Reuben hasn't got computer access at the moment (he uses the library etc), so I can safely say I just went round the corner to Rick's Records and found him a copy of the Doing It For The Kids (Creation) compilation for his birthday: think it'll do the trick! Actually, I'm supposed to be heading down the beach for his birthday now. See ya!

Sorry Paula, shouldn't that be 'Camel ROCK!!!!' ? *strikes rock pose* We miss you too- don't stay there with all the beautiful scenery and nice mellow people. Come back here, where there's drunks, and the sea, and drunks in the sea... (Saw my first vomiting in the street on carnival day at 6.30pm. Niiiiiice.) Looking forward to catching up with you in October (after 'Camel ROCK!!!' *strikes rock pose again*) Will write/e-mail again proper like soon. Take care m'dear. x

I'd just like to add, regarding my karma rating, that I was accidentally smote (smitten?) by someone, mentioning no names. *gives Paula a steely stare*. So if anyone fancies making me look like I'm not an arse, do feel free to exalt. Unless of course, you think I'm an arse...

I don't quite get all this exalt/smite stuff, it's a bit competitive! So I'm conscientiously objecting to it. Anyway, has Lee made it to Scilly yet? I'm sitting in Bexhill Library, trying to work out whether to run off anywhere myself this weekend..

Wasn't trying to make myself look good, I just didn't want it to look like I'd pissed someone off on here and been zapped for it. Am not too fussed otherwise. Maybe there's a way that you as administrator can turn it off if it annoys you..? *toddles off to smite all and sundry just to be contrary*

Good idea, I have just turned everyone's karma off! It just seems a bit too pissy to me. However, if people really want it, I'll turn it back on...

Yeah I made it to Scilly. I have to go back tomorrow and i don't want to leave. Its fantastic here!!! Does anyone know who Tony Albright is? I wish I could get a job locally and stay here forever. The electronic music scene is sorely lacking but i reckon i can kick it into gear. I don't think Paula is leaving and i don't blame her. You must come - you would love it. Best holiday i ever had!!

the local electronic music scene may be sorely lacking but good on lee for discovering that tom here (tho actually based in london) makes kinda improvised electronic music and not just a mean spoons solo (not to mention the silent orchestra thingy, but lee can fill you in on that one... look for a website under the name of 'keepmusicrecorded' i think...
