Hey Carrie - I did of course mean to PM you with that - I'm sure others do not care what I had for me tea.

The simplest way to PM someone (when you're logged-in) is to click on Members (above, in the box at the top), scroll down (or page forward) to the person you want, then click on the left-hand icon (an envelope? a typewriter?) in the Extras column on the right.

last night i fell asleep before the glastonbury film (well i woke up for about 20 minutes and found it rather so-so, and promptly fell asleep again). the combined early night and sleeping with tv on meant that i had the unusual pleasure of waking up at 5.28a.m just before teletubbies started. are the teletubbies still the scourge of society, causing the younsters to be unable to speak properly etc.. or are they alright now?

I caught the very end of the Glastonbury film: seemed very well-made to me (loads of old/private footage edited in - was that us doing the litter-picking? - and the 'Jerusalem' bit from It's Grim Up North too!). Would've watched it all, but could only get black&white reception on BBC on my portable, so just fitted bits in between old Doctor Who videos and the Mumm-Ra tv-debut (successfully avoiding Annabel Chong, which looked far-too depressing). Teletubbies to headline Glastonbury 2007 please!

My dad has always been a big fan on the tellytubbies (sometimes he makes me tubby toast ) - and he's got a brain and everything...

today carrie is very sad. iwas happy, then as usual i opened my fucking mouth and, well, not quite sure what happened, normal service will almost certainly be resumed tomorrow. who knows i may even be tempted to keep my mouth shut, seems to be better all round that way. over many years i seem to have found that not saying if something is bothering me/upsetting me/offending or upsetting me tends to cause by far the least trouble. it also sucks, a lot.

Is it work-related? Remember the wise words of that terrible band The Automatic (and then forget everything else about them):
"What's that coming over the hill, is it a wanker? A wanker!"
Personally (as someone who's known you a long time) I think it's better for you to say when things are bothering/upsetting you, as keeping schtum just adds to a difficult atmosphere: at least if you've ended up offending someone it helps to blow-off steam, and opens the issue up to be resolved. Of course, I may be barking up the wrong tree (miaowing up the wrong armchair!) and you don't have to add anything else to my comment if you'd prefer.

1. carrie upset 2. asked why 3. says why 4. told well that is silly what do you mean 5. explains 6. well thats silly 7. carrie more upset 8. well whats wrong now (remember point 1 unsuccessfully resolved) 9. carrie really cant be fucking bothered to repeat for third or fourth time(what with it being silly) so agrees to sillyness just end it,makes tea, cries.
work(bfk) not so bad today, its the whole off next week thing. work(cruk) better this week as not responsible for dev road, and damn good records.

Have to say (bearing in mind that I have no knowledge of the situation in hand whatsoever, and am a leetle bit pissed) that nothing's guaranteed to annoy/upset me more than being told I'm being silly. Nothing really useful to add, other than a small internet hug, and an "Amen sister."

Birthday soon too! We can do whatever you want (once you've decided), especially if it involves lots of drinking, and I've thought of your present too. Be fun!

FILO quiz (if this weekend) would be good. Picnic on your birthday would also be good. Pubs could be good too, though (due to a swapped workday) I'm off on the Saturday for a change, so if you had people over here instead on Friday evening it wouldn't effect me having to get up the morning after.
nb: For everyone else, there is Saturday stuff going on at the Monkey: but, again, I don't mind staying home drinking that evening as well, if Carrie wants us to.

the possible birthday plan is (not a clue for friday evening, not feeling particularly fussed by the whole thing) sunday afternoon picnic, probably at alexandra park, possibly heading down to gritti or some such outside pub type thing early evening for a couple of drinks after i return barney to sunny sidley.

Carrie: we just had Soph & Ross round, taking back her little oven from the attic cupboard in your room. Was your Independent free-dvd copy of Wings Of Desire already bent, or did that happen when they tripped? May have to keep your eyes on those charity-shop donations otherwise. Sorry 'bout that!

No inconvenience at this end: I only had an hour-or-so notice that Soph was moving stuff today (while I was out), so just wasn't able to get anything sorted via you first. The only person who's been asking about whether we had any space coming up in the house (unconnected to the announcement on these boards, possibly) is Jamie, so it'll probably be him moving in (at end of October, as arranged), therefore no particular urgency for you to move your stuff quick, as he's still at home. I think the main reason Ross tripped as he backed the cooker out of the cupboard was "more haste/less speed" as he was parked on the lines outside the house. I'll keep an eye out for another Wings Of Desire for you anyway.
