Does anyone else have old emailed photos knocking around in their inboxes, from before the days when we all had blogs etc? I've only just discovered how to view some pictures Charlie emailed me from his & Lucy's Superhero party a couple of years ago... Check your old emails!

Co-incidentally, when I went into Virgin yesterday, I found that Pet Shop Boys have just released a new album (Concrete) and a new single (Numb) - an event that once upon a time I'd have known about well in advance. Now that they generate less column inches in the music press than, oh, Milburn, does this mean I have to start listening to Radio Two to keep up with the groups I liked when I was at school? Bearing in mind that Concrete is a double cd of their (orchestra, Robbie Williams & Rufus Wainwright -assisted) Radio Two concert, and that 'Numb' is their most downtempo single ever (written by potty-mouthed power-balladeer Diane Warren) I suppose the answer is "Yes". (Bearing in mind they're Trevor Horn productions, I suppose the answer is Yes...) Good single, anyway.

Bumped into Reuben, Helen and Ollie yesterday afternoon: they'd all been up to The Flesh Happening single launch in London the other week, and stayed at Shara's. Apparently, she's still got loads of old Hastings photos on her walls: including Ridding ones (with a very young Christa) and ones from parties at Petra's (and latterly my) old flat in the High Street, with the two of us, Oliva and Wookie. I didn't even remember I knew Wookie back then! It was only recently that I found out we'd been at primary school together (he was in the year above). I reckon I'm being slowly stalked!
Reminds me of a time a couple of years back, when I met Abi for a drink in Eastbourne one evening. She bumped into an old friend of hers who she'd not seen for about ten years, and asked if I'd met her before. I said no, and then her friend (who was in the process of moving house) pulled a bundle of photographs out of her bags, including loads of a party round Abi's, with Dean and Paula, and me and this woman swigging wine in Abi's kitchen with our arms round each other...

Eeep. There's photographic evidence of the shenanigans at my old flat? I thought I had all of that destroyed. What's Shara's address? I'll send the boys round.

Paula - I don't remember her name, but I've texted Abi to find out. Alfie - The photos whereof you speak still adorn the walls of Smugglers!

Awww...that's a nice picture.
You do look very pleased about something, though, like you know something Nick and Carolyn don't know, or have just farted, or something!

That's odd, I've never yet had problems logging into Facebook. It's Myspace that's usually the awkward one.

Bizarre. If that's not me on the right, it's someone who looks exactly like me, but wears pink and white.

It is Kirsty, our former housemate. She's gonna be in Brighton sometime on Wednesday, so if you wanna test your doppleganger theory, Petra, you're welcome!

If anyone wants to search online for old pictures of some of our local bands, bits of sleeve art, etc, I've noticed that the Picture search on www.alltheweb.com seems to be more specifically refined than that on Google (meaning, conversely, that Google has the advantage on general picture searching, of course). I put Dizzy Tiger Music, Rumiko Jr and Rashamon into All The Web, and got just about every photo and image back straight away each time...

I spent a while this morning extracting photos* from 2 of Carolyn's old mobile phones: there's a few shots of Rashamon at the Concorde2 in 2006, and a bit of us at New Order's Wembley gig, amongst other stuff. It'll turn up on Facebook eventually, I'm sure.
*by Bluetoothing them onto my phone, and sending them down its USB cable to the computer.

For anyone who hasn't had the Facebook message, Wookie's having a book published of his Hastings photography, available from Borders here.
