If you view this in time, you might want to know (courtesy of a Spirit Of Gravity mailout) that there's a Wrong Music special session on Rob Da Bank's Radio One show this evening (Thu 20th Oct), 11pm-1am. According to the SOG message board spiritofgrav.proboards57.com Shitmat, Dj Scotch Egg, Hot Roddy, Mully, Ebola and Gross Consumer are all appearing. If you miss it, borrow my copy of the Wrong Music compilation cd Whatever! (£4.99 in the shops) and die laughing.

I don't think Mr De Bank quite knows what he's letting himself in for!

Wrong Music were involved with last year's Keeping It Peel evening of radio programming though. And (in the Paul Gambaccini style) Shitmat's There's No Business Like Propa' Rungleclotted Mashup Bizznizz did make number 33 in the 2004 Festive Fifty. Lookin' forward to this anyway. And, of course, it should all be available for re-listening for the next seven days from the Radio 1 website www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/onemusic/rob/wrong.shtml

BBC Southern Counties rang up this morning, chatting about a couple of things to do with the label and the town in general, which was a surprise. Any knock-on possible benefits to us all will get posted up as soon as I've got more info.

Those of you with only a passing-opportunity to access the internet may be interested to know that Mumm-Ra are appearing on ordinary Radio Two today, on Dermot O'Leary's show, between 5pm and 7pm. Thanks to Paula for the info. Broadband internetters should of course be able to listen to these performances at a later date online. Similarly, Mumm-Ra have also been appearing in session on XFM (only receivable digitally down here on the coast) and BBC Radio 6 Music (a digital-only station; though you may have a digibox?), which should also currently be online. www.mumm-ra.com should have all the necessary details.

hello, please can someone help...what are bt talking about when they say we've exceeded our lmit by using 10.02 GB last month instead of 5GB???

You will have a data transfer limit - so you can send/receive up to 5GB of data a month with your package for "free", if you exceed it I imagine they charge you. If you are going through the threshold regualrly it is probably worth moving to a different package.

is that to do with stuff like downloading music and tv etc then?

Yes, whenever you browse a page on the web data is transferred to your computer, but a web page is quite a small file. The stuff that will eat it up is downloading films, music, uploading photos etc.

The East podcast should be ready soon; but meantime, did anyone else listen to Logan (plus full band) on Janice Long in the end? It's on the Listen Again function for a few more days: they came over well, at least.

We went to the Prince Albert pub near Brighton Station this afternoon to see Miss Pain performing a gig, as part of a show for the (very) local Radio Reverb station (97.2FM in the area, but also on http://www.radioreverb.com), that's due to be broadcast from 1pm tomorrow (I think), and again around 12 hours later. The between-song sketches performed by the actual radio crew were, um, pretty inaudible (and, we think, quite ropey), but it might be worth a listen for Miss Pain's special cover-version finale of 'In Every Dream Home A Heartache' (unless they over-ran and it doesn't make the show).

I missed this completely at the time, but Monster Bobby was on Huw Stephens' Radio 1 show back on 30th Nov 2006 discussing the Spirit Of Gravity collective. As well as recommending Rashamon, Hot Roddy et al, a Minimal Impact track is played - therefore you can hear an mp3 of the whole thing on MI's site here: www.ianthemingo.com/fluxus/

From www.ianhelliwell.co.uk - 'The Tone Generation' - Ian delves into his record and cd collection to present a new 10 part series of programmes, exploring vintage electronic music created in different areas of the world, from the formative days up until the 1970s. Each part will focus on a particular country or region, and feature some of its key composers working with early analogue electronics. The first show is scheduled for April 11th, 7.30-8pm on Resonance 104.4FM resonancefm.com/This is the guy who tutored the course Carolyn & I recently did on analogue electronic music at the Phoenix Arts Centre. Maybe worth a listen!

From a general email from Ian Helliwell on Resonance FM's 'The Tone Generation': "Over 10 programmes, artist/musician Helliwell delves into his archive to look at the development of electronic music right across the world in the classic era of analogue technology. Starting in Europe and finishing up in the Southern Hemisphere, he will be playing vintage tracks from celebrated and overlooked composers from each country. Programme 1 starts with Great Britain featuring tracks from Tristram Cary, Daphne Oram, Desmond Leslie and Fred Judd. The series continues with France on April 18th." There may also be pieces we recorded on the course broadcast tonight on www.radioreverb.com for Clive Craske's Sound Laboratory show at 11pm, but this isn't confirmed.
