Hooray for Cherry Red reaching it's 30th anniversary, without ever actually going bust in the meantime. They've just re-issued my favourite album from when I was young (um, Red Box's one - apparently known to fetch up to £200 2nd hand, according to Cherry Red's site, which can't be correct, surely?); and are involved with reissuing Claire Hamill's albums currently (there's an extended interview with her on YouTube, arranged by Cherry Red, on her career in music, which could be worth a look).
I only found this out 'cos I was hoping for a proper YouTube clip of Patrick MacNee & Honor Blackman doing 'Kinky Boots', but I couldn't find one...

Cherry Red's Cherry Pop imprint have now also re-issued Stephen Duffy's The Ups And Downs - it's like they're working through my record collection circa 1989...
I have emailed them a suggestion of compiling the Home Service 7"s though.

"Love" is too strong a word, but here's a bit more info on the famous Moshi Moshi Records, who are putting Mirrors' Into Your Heart 7" out in their Singles Club series. The neat part of the concept is getting each band to design the sleeve for their single using only one colour - Mirrors' one is quite effective in this respect. The strike rate of bands they've worked with (often, it seems, in a Fierce Panda-style of doing an early single by a band who are already signed up to a larger label deal - A tactic Fierce Panda have dropped these days, incidentally, in an effort to be taken more seriously as a label worth signing to) is pretty good - Friendly Fires, Slow Club, Wave Pictures etc - but they have been responsible for the debuts by both Kate Nash and Florence & The Machine (her worst song too, the reprehensible Kiss With A Fist). So there you go. Mirrors' new one is up for pre-order in the Moshi Moshi online shop, by the way.
