Cheers. As for my potential date, the phone rang again after work on Saturday:
- "Hi Stu, do you still want to meet up this evening?" - "Yeah sure, what do you want to do?" - "Do you want to come over to my place?" - "Sure, where are you?" - "I'm at my house" - "Whereabouts is that?" - "You know where I live!" - "No, I don't" - "You've been round before!" - "No, I really haven't" [PAUSE] - "Stu?" - "Yeah?" - "How do I know you?" - "From hanging out down the pub" [PAUSE] - "Oh, sorry. Wrong Stu"
How we laughed.

Well, at least I've got the "good sense of humour" bit covered! If anyone wants to recommend any of my other attributes around their office (you know: likes a drink, good to his cats) and point out I'm not likely to be going on any other dates otherwise between now and God-knows-when, that could be of help too!

Having said that, I'll post-up this event that happened in the shop on Friday. Any passing neuroscientists would have been able to observe the precise amount of time it takes for a person to realise how old they are.
A group of bright and confident teenage women came in to buy Bop-It, then one of them asked me this:
- "Excuse me, are you single?" - "Yeah, I am actually" - "Would you like to go out on a date?" - "Yeah, sure" - "It's with my mum" [ONE MILLION BILLIONTH OF A MILLISECOND ON A FRIDAY AFTERNOON] - "Yeah, I'll do that!"
Am now waiting to see if my phone rings, ever...

Hmm, another woman who knew I'd written about her on the boards (above) has now got internet access again, so hey! Here's the thread! We're still friends, of course.
The lesson here should be: don't write about your relationships (even the non-starters) on the boards. But it's comedy, so I think it's acceptable.
And, of course, my door is always open. Literally - it means the cats can get in and out the room.
