There's only one Stereolab gig happening this year so far (1 of 3 dates, the other 2 are on the Continent), Thursday 11th May, Koko, Camden, with Field Music and Seeland. Does anyone fancy going? The supports are good, tour single too, of course. www.stereolab.co.uk

This gig would, of course, also be the night before the first weekend of the United Sounds Of ATP starts, so a few of us are gonna be off work straight after the Stereolab gig anyway...

Just had a check at www.gigsandtours.com ; tickets for this are still available at £16.50 each (inc. booking fee), doors are at 7:30pm. I'm still up for going to it, but I think if I'm gonna do it I'm gonna have to pay for mine this week, before the next lot of bills and stuff come in again. If anyone wants to come, can they put a reply on here, and I'll have a look after work and make a decision then. 'Cos I might just give it all a miss and save myself for ATP the day after. Ta.

Sounds like a good plan (not seen them play for 10 years). Are you sorting tickets out?

I will do after work today if people want to come along, so long as you could get the money back to me over the weekend. I'll give you a ring when I get home later.

Still haven't bought a ticket for this gig, as it looks like I might have to go on my own, and I'm not sure how much fun that would be any more. In the meantime, I've added all the rest of my bits of Stereolab writings into The Archive here. The Concorde 2 review was actually the last piece of writing I completed before I abandoned the idea of completing another fanzine, but there's still loads of other bits & pieces in my notebook predating it, including several other related reviews of stuff on the Duophonic label. The grammar and sentence structures are pretty poor, 'cos I just wrote it all down in a rush in the first place, then copied it up pretty much word for word just now. So don't expect to read anything much worthwhile if you look!

Just me and the music, always enjoyable ;D Maybe now if I went to a show with someone, I would have to tell them to be quiet and not talk to me during the show! ;D Anyway, maybe you are different. But I go to most places alone, so its not a problem for me.

Well, you know, gotta get back and ready to go to ATP the very next day, so makes it a bit trickier time-wise. Going to gigs alone is fine, it's the getting stranded afterwards bit that's the problem! Really helps to share them taxi fares!

Though I've decided against attempting to get to this Stereolab gig, some of you might want to know (if you don't already) that you can pre-order the current tour 7" from their website (above). That'll do for me!

oooooooooo really want to go. but... it's a couple of days after i get back from sf, and i have the feeling that trying to make it to london and back in one evening before work the next day may result in a sicky.
