Paul Huggins' The Entertainer magazine (www.entertainer-online.co.uk) reports that Smugglers are sponsoring a website for local music downloads, at www.smugglersmusic.com . If you look, that site's not yet completed: though I'm hoping it'll resemble the layout of the pub itself when finished (Whitesnake on the jukebox, ceiling falling-in, Pete O'Mant asleep on the sofa in the corner etc). Smugglers is the just the key venue in town, isn't it? Nice one Ewen.

Dara is behind this. I have spoken to him about this on several occasions but to be frank I have trouble working out exactly what is going on because either a) I have been too pissed to decipher his incredibly fast speech and Irish accent. Or b) Whitesnake has being playing too loud and I have been unable to decipher his incredibly fast speech and Irish accent.
In either situation I have come away with the feeling that he has some understanding of the technical side of DRM and the business side of providing content, but I remain unsure as to exactly how it will work.

The mirror is cracked. The clock on the mantlepiece is broken. The ravens have left the Tower.
Last night, Rumiko Jr and Regular John drank the Smugglers dry...

My pig feels like a head shat in it. Yup, that bad.
I blame Ewan for running out of guinness and making me switch to Carling which is the stuff headaches are made of on account of the brew replacing the alcohol (good for you) with headachey chemicals (bad for you).

Apparently, they'd run out of ALL beer by the end of the night (the Landlord Ale was gone by 10pm I reckon, I went on to John Smiths), possibly 'cos Ewen's on holiday, leaving his pub in the care of less-organised staff... Mind you, I feel fine anyway!

Simon lays blame at the feet of Ewan. Ewan doesn't care as he is in France taking a break from being the world's greatest landlord.

Yeah, Simon was pretty harassed yesterday, and wasn't supposed to be working, but obviously it got so busy that he felt obliged to lend Donna Terenzi a hand. If he's been in a similar way recently, then maybe he's been unable to pick up all the bits and pieces Ewen left hanging when he went away: he probably hadn't been expecting to be left so quite in the lurch. Simon, of course, is entirely capable of managing bars though: he's run several here and in Brighton. So let's put it down to a communication breakdown or something.

That should read, "who is ruining it now?".

That should read, "who is ruining it now?". How prescient!
