That photo of Deano on the cover of the new Ultimate Alternative: was that from Black Horse or Spain? Do you interpret it as tying in with their Black Horse Festival preview cover-story, or do people see it as unrelated? 'Cos of course, Dean's not playing there this year. It's a good picture anyway, and good of them to stick him on the front (couldn't locate any credit of photographer or subject inside though). Better by far than those recent digitally-constructed collages of people and places that UA had been running with: just a nice solid design now. Anyone not in Hastings during May who wants us to put a souvenir copy by for them, let us know. Not a Rumiko feature inside, incidentally, though they're mentioned in the context of Rocksalts.

That is one that Bob "Observer" Mazzer took at the Black Horse 2004 - if you look carefully he is seated.

Ha! Unfortunately not... Possibile pants-poster free with pre-orders of The Great Western Lie, anyone? Oh, the dignity.

Radio play and our first magazine cover? All in the same week? Our career is moving at a giddy pace, will Rumiko be able to ride the rollercoaster of fame or will we have imploded Libertines style by June?

Anyone up for going to see Tim and The Hoytey Toytey's at the Horsey? Glen Tillbrook (whoever he is) is supporting him.

Not sure I can spare the £12 after both ATP's, but it's a possibility. Am working Saturday, but could get up to Telham in plenty of time afterwards, I'm sure. Happy to stick around for Glen Tilbrook (though would sit in the pub throughout Jez Lowe & The Bad Pennies on the strength, or weakness, of their name) - c'mon Marcus, don't tease the feller! Tim Hoyte deserves a good bit of our support there regardless, and I don't really want to be doing nothing this Saturday. Anyone else thinking of Black Horse then?

Ok, maybe Black Horse is off the plan then. I'm busy tonight, but does anyone have alternate plans for later in the Bank Holiday weekend? Preferably cheap ones.

There's debate on the Mumm-Ra forums as to whether their billed Black Horse Festival gig is gonna take place at all, understandably, but does anyone fancy heading up on that Monday for John Otway, Glen Tilbrook et al anyway? www.blackhorsemusicfestival.org.uk

I've got to work next Monday, so won't be attending Black Horse Festival that day - And, as the Black Horse website now points out, Mumm-Ra aren't playing anyway. Anyone going along regardless?

www.blackhorsemusicfestival.org.ukThis year's Black Horse has been cancelled: Rother District Council wouldn't grant a license for its proposed relocation to the Pestalozzi Village.
