£10 Primark polka-dot dress becomes the best-selling dress of all time (approaching 100,000 sales in the UK) - does this make it The Pipettes' time? Or, as with the Sheila's Wheels adverts, has the world caught-up with them, and moved onwards already? A summer of The Pipettes would certainly be preferable to the (seemingly inevitable) summer of Lily Allen. When's their album out? Seems to be getting some pretty-average reviews, but that's not stopping the press from printing their photos every week anyway still.

After submitting their album to review with The Sun, and allowing that paper to offer 'ABC' as a free download in collaboration with HMV yesterday, The Pipettes will be interviewed in their Something For The Weekend supplement next Friday. Principles, eh? Who needs them! Having said that, The Sun has managed to secure interviews this year from all sorts of unlikely musicians (Dan Treacy, Green Gartside...), so it's not like The Pipettes are going out on a limb here. What are News International doing: threatening to withdraw everyone's Myspace pages?

The Pipettes Q&A in The Sun's Something For The Weekend section today did at least credit Monster Bobby as the instigator of the project. Feature was accompanied by a standard Memphis Industries promo photo, and not a special 'glamour' one, thankfully.

Ok, this is one of those threads that only I've ever commented in, so I'm not expecting much of an answer here, but i) had anyone else seen that all the original Pipettes women have now changed (the longest-standing member being the one who was the first replacement), and ii) does anyone know why (in an on-the-record sense, obviously)?
And, by-the-by, iii) how many other bands can people think of that have replaced all their original members? I can only think of Napalm Death!

Is this not because they are anachronistic?

Nick, I know you love Pull Shapes as much as the next person (unless the next person is Seb, of course).

The Drifters The Four Tops (possibly) The Temptations England World Cup Squad (Back Home and World in Motion both at No.1 20 years apart - 1970 and 1990).
