I, ahem - accidentally, watched a bit of Eastenders on Monday (Sept 11th) - what the fuck was that all about? One of the most misjudged attempts at 'keeping it real' I think I've ever seen - and I have watched a lot of crap. Re: good tv. Has anyone been watching the new Armando Innucci (sp?) series? I watched episode one - which was brilliant and much better than the show he had out a few years ago. Since then I've forgotten each week what day it is on and so missed it. Anything that is keeping Adam Buxton on the TV is TV gold in my book. Other than that not aware of anything worth watching at all - except X Factor of course -

Uh, didn't find anywhere to watch the film. So I've pre-ordered it on dvd from www.moviemail-online.co.uk instead! Until Plexifilm hurry up and get Radio On reissued onto dvd, this remains (as far as I'm aware) the only Chris Petit film available to buy. C'mon people! [Actually, a quick search revealed you can get London Orbital and, curiously, a BBC Miss Marple film from 1989 on dvd too]

What is really sad is that i have refused to watch the Office for all thiss time, then i saw a show last night and it was really funny. I must be far enough detached from my last UK office job to be relaxed with it! PS. If you ever have the chance to go to Canada, go to Vancouver it is way nicer than Toronto!

There's always next year's further spin-offs to come: The Sarah-Jane Adventures, and some animated K9 thing (both for children). Has anyone else looked at the Torchwood previews in the Radio Times yet? That Eve Myles is very... freckly. She'd have been my schoolboy crush! Instead, I suspect I had a thing for (non-Doctor Who fans can stop reading already) Nyssa and Tegan, though fortunately that part of my memory is lost to me now.

It looks like it'll be a while before the actual series is repeated (I don't think they're repeating individual episodes during the week, though they can be watched again online), but there's also some nice pictures here: www.bbc.co.uk/coast/programmes2/01-dover-wight.shtml

Ah fuck it, just turned it on and they're in Southampton already! I had been watching very, very silly old Doctor Who though ('The Romans') so it's been a good evening so far. Who's watching Torchwood later?

Did anyone see the Paul Watson documentary that was on last night: 'Rain In My Heart'? Holy.Shit. Luckily, Michael and I were having a quiet one, so I was watching it with a cup of tea in my hand rather than a glass of wine, but still...probably the most powerful thing I've seen all year, and certainly provided food for thought. Spent some of it watching from behind a cushion ("unflinching documentary on alcoholism"= there will be vomiting) but am glad I watched it. It's recorded, if anyone wants to borrow it- not sure if the above review constitutes a recommendation or not! (Unrelated- 20 guests viewing the board? Surely that can't be right?)

Re: 20 people on the Boards today (I missed that) - Although it is a pretty rainy afternoon now (oh, I had fun pulling my washing off the line just now...) and there could be lots of people randomly passing through, I think it's more likely that either i) the Proboards counting-device was up the shoot, or ii) someone (possibly you, Caoline, who has your computer plugged in for long amounts of time) was being targeted by Spyware or something. You'll notice on the front-page that the record number of people visiting the boards at any one time so far was 47 back in July: I was on the boards at that time, and it looked to me as if every time I viewed a different thread it was adding another viewer to the running total. I may be wrong about any of this though. No thanks on the alcoholism documentary, by the way!

Oh dear God, Girls Aloud dressed-up as the Sex Pistols (ish) in the Xmas NME... Bad. Very bad.
Meanwhile, Xmas Radio Times (with free Doctor Who audio cd, 1st of 4!) brings us the following schedule:
Doctor Who (The Runaway Bride): Christmas Day, 7-8pm, BBC1. Torchwood: Wed 27 Dec, 10-10.50pm, BBC2. The Sarah Jane Adventures: New Year's Day, 4.50-5.50pm, BBC1. Torchwood (double-bill finale): Wed 3 Jan, 9-10.30pm, BBC2.
And for those of you who actually live in Space: Doctor Who (Blood Of The Daleks), New Year's Eve, 6-6.50pm/12-12.50am, BBC7 - Paul McGann in 1st of 8 radio dramas, culminating in his character's regeneration into Christopher Eccleston's one.
There's probably loads of other behind-the-scenes/interview tv&radio spots too. From the toy-shop, I can vouch for the fact that the kids have gone Doctor Who crazy this year (definately the most-popular toy-strand overall), bless them.

from appalled of hastings-i just watched bbc news doorstep the father of one of the men being questioned in ipswich, really quite unpleasant '...can you tell us what sort of man your son was...'. jesus, surely the poor guy is feeling pretty shit, his son is being questioned for multiple murders. i thought the bbc were meant to be the moral bastion of british television.
