Arm twisting not necessary - I will be compering.

According to the website of the rather wonderful Trunk Records , the uncle of Robin (Scanner) Rimbaud (and presumably his brother Tony of I'm Dr Buoyant too) is former Screen Test presenter Michael Rodd - I wonder if this is actually true?

I keep forgetting, it's Spirit Of Gravity tonight at the Komedia, with:
Gagarin, Komuso, Urban Delights.
Btw, apparently Tony and Robin Rimbaud aren't related after all, and it's been a long-standing myth in the SOG community, according to Lee (who was taken in), although Scanner's Wikipedia entry adds to the confusion. I don't know, these electronic japesters and their obscure sense of humour...

Hi hi! Looks like I'm playing SOG on the 12th March (can I crash at your place Stu/Carolyn?).

Yes, that's fine of course - there's plenty of sofabed space in the lounge, and I can't think of anything else we're supposed to be doing on that date (unless Carolyn reminds me of something!)
Be warned though - depending on who else is on the bill, you may find that a lot of people will chatter through your set! No more than they would at, say, a Smugglers gig, but the acoustics of the Komedia Studio Bar are such that it can be quite loud and instrusive.
Still, look forward to it!

I tend to ignore the audience when playing live to avoid nerves so I doubt what they do will matter much (just so long as they don't throw things)

More details up on the Spirit Of Gravity site now. Gig also features Super Mega Ultra Crew and DJ Sexy Meagre Drive - I don't know if these are new acts or Spirit Of Gravity members under aliases.

So, who's coming over then? I guess Michael's at work now, and his mobile's still busted? I'll bring a few of the Frontier Telegraph cds along anyway.

There's some stuff about Michael's Frontier Telegraph gig on the Spirit Of Gravity blog, but I can't see it 'cos the Flash Player keeps chucking me offline.

Dan Powell & Chris Cook, The Vainglories and MSG at Spirit Of Gravity later, down the Komedia Studio Bar again...

As well as the debut Mirrors gig, it's also a Planet Mu/Warp Records special at Spirit Of Gravity tomorrow, with:
Tim Exile / Ital Tek / Ceephax (dj set) / Shitmat vs minimal impact / Strangers From Birth
I think it's upstairs in the Komedia too, to cope with public demand (and 'cos the downstairs Studio Bar is double-booked or something).
£7, 8.30-12pm.
One-page Planet Mu feature in the current Plan B mag, by the way, with Shitmat pic.

Next Spirit of Gravity is back down the Komedia Studio Bar on 11th June, with
Hoofus, Animal Magic Tricks, Monster Bobby.
This co-incides with the Overhead Wires night at the Providence though, so I might struggle to do both.

Evol, Joe Gilmore & D-Face down Spirit Of Gravity tonight, btw EDIT: Just noticed this note on www.spiritofgravity.com, re the elektrocreche - "Join in and become one of the stars on the future elektrocreche compilation being recorded at every gig. You too could be on a compilation with Henry Shitmat, Shige Scotch Egg, Tony Rimbaud, DJ Cheesemaster, Monster Bobby, Dan Powell, Chris Cook, Tim Exile, Gillian Alder, Caleb ....coool." Coool indeed! On a related SOG note, I think The Vainglories & Gagarin are playing at the Basement in North Laine as well tonight, but as only maybe me & Carolyn have ever been there out of everyone who's likely tp look at this post this evening, it's probably not gonna sway anyone's social plans now.

Blimey, SOG's come early this month (Ryan Jordan, Gus Garside & Dan Powell, Sunday Mourning). Not used to it being on a Wednesday!
