That's an interesting idea, but it's probably on very shaky ground legally. Just 'cos an LP is out of print, doesn't mean it's up for grabs for streaming: the majority of those albums are going to still be in copyright, and not yet Public Domain. Furthermore, some of the composers whose work is represented there are still alive and creating music. Listen while you can, eh?

Michael Not sure if you'd get to listen to this on boxing day but it's another programme by the guy who was our tutor on that electronic music course - the expo 58 one should be good - he knows loads about it! - - - - - The Tone Generation: Programme 13 – Electronics in Jazz This boxing day special continues Ian Helliwell`s Tone Generation radio series – the original 10 parts examining early electronic music development in different countries across the world, selected from Ian`s record and cd collection, and first heard on Resonance FM during April and June 2008. Programmes 11 and 12 looking at Expo 58 and the RCA Synthesizer, are followed by this new edition which explores Electronics in Jazz, with an hour long presentation featuring some of the key pieces from the 1960s and 70s. As usual Ian digs out his favourite tracks to illustrate the theme, and explains a bit of background about each one. Described by internet directory boingboing as “absolutely fascinating”, the whole series can be listened to via podcast: odeo.com/channels/781673/rss.xml The broadcast will go out on Resonance 104.4 FM and on their website www.resonancefm.com at 7.30pm on Boxing Day.

Hello folks, I'm supporting 'space moth' (ex-'circus toe') as 'red crayon spider' at 'The Rooms' on 13th February. Come watch me become confused with guitar and a bunch of boxes ('deepkiss 720' are also playing).

Sounds great - Did you make it down the Rooms last night by the way (for Warrior Squares, Deepkiss720 & Reuben)? I didn't make it to town this weekend due to i) getting Luke back to full health, and ii) the Vet bill cutting down on my social spending quite drastically. Hoping (Luke depending) to be over for long weekends the next two weeks though, for Vampire Weekend/Electric Blowhole next week, and Random Fridays/your gig the next. Fingers crossed.
