This one's up on the main site anyway, but Harpers have Adem, Tim Smart and Tim Hoyte due on 23rd November, according to Ultimate Alternative.

How come so many of you have gone to Italy this week, was there some party the rest of us weren't invited to? I got a postcard from Paul and Carolyn this week too, but they'd written it in Italian, so fuck knows what they're up to! I'm going to a party tomorrow, about half a mile away, will this do?

I went to Italy because it was 5p each way on Ryanair and I've never been.
Managed to survive despite scary drunk moment in Venice at night being unable to find my way home. Don't...Look..Now!!

Although, in the same way that the concluding events of Don't Look Now are foretold in the opening scenes, you had a pre-disposition to getting lost one night in Venice and getting the wind up you simply because you've seen the film a few times, you old Roeg.

Might well be the case. I was actually wandering around pretending to be Donald Sutherland, calling out Julie Christie's characters name a lot and laughing manically... Now what was that characters name again? And what did I find written on a wall when I first got there? And why all the bloody masks? (all of the above irrelevant to anyone who has not spent the last 3 months in my company).

I would like to apologise for making at least two terrible puns on these boards today. I'll try and restrict myself to just one per day in future. Having spent very little of the last 3 months in Lee's company (what with being working too hard on the label here in Hastings) I have no idea what he's talking about. The only riddles in my life at the moment are: - Why am I drinking all this wine by myself? - Why is no-one replying to my texts this afternoon? - When are things going to start feeling better? (this last question possibly tied in to red wine consumption)
See ya!

Adem, Tim Smart and Tim Hoyte is £8:50 on Wednesday evening 8:30pm. The correct url for the Harpers/Club Apotheosis website is www.club-apotheosis.com Many pictures of the Four Tet gig, including several famous musicians. (And Lee, ha-ha) It's all looking quite exciting there, and their site is handy 'cos it means I don't have to keep pointing people along there myself (unless one of out lot are playing).

Might come for that one myself - shame I'm gonna miss Adem but I saw him supporting Mum over in Brighton and that was lovely enough. Besides, I have a bit of a busy week coming up in the Rashamon world. I imagine I will be a bit knacked by Wednesday.
Hmmm..look a bit bored and pissed in that photo. Shame we can't see Stu, though. Where were you? (Haha!).

Apparently the James Yorkston gig has already sold out (with help from the Domino Records website). I can neither confirm nor deny any of the rumours that may be floating around, about other acts who may be performing at Harpers soon (even the ones that Harvey from Harpers was talking to us about down Revolver earlier this evening, that I subsequently spread by word-of-mouth and text). But, as dear Gary Barlow once said, "The rumours are true..."

Hey Paula, Happy Birthday! I can't tell you any other way at the moment, 'cos apparently you've got a new mobile and I don't know the number. Which means you probably didn't get my texts about who might be playing these Harpers gigs next year. So I'll fill you in when you're back here. But you've guessed some already, I think. Have a great day anyway! x

Without wishing to pile misinformation upon misinformation, apparently the James Yorkston gig isn't sold out yet! Their tickets aren't ready yet, but should be available from Harpers from this Saturday, hopefully, at around a tenner. I can't recommend this gig highly enough, he was fantastic at De La Warr Pavilion and All Tomorrow's Parties when I saw him play before. New Year's Eve at Harpers is worth a go, I reckon. Tickets will be at least £20, but you do get DJ Food (Ninja Tunes), our own Regular John, license til 6am, champagne breakfast etc etc (they hope). Other names for 2006 (not already mentioned on these boards) from their site include Tuung (supported possibly by Jose Gonzales), Cinematic Orchestra, Graham Coxon, Devandra Banhart... blimey, why would you want to live in any other town? And if they pull off their Very Special Guests next year... Sorry, but despite all our various reservations about different bits of Harpers, they're collectively really making a cultural intervention on behalf Hastings.
- But we're cooler!

I've paid for James Yorkston tickets for both Paula and me, is anyone else coming along? Talking to Petra at the weekend, she wasn't referring to either of the Prochaks on that earlier thread, but that subject is probably now closed, ta.
