Relating to the title of this thread, rather than the content... I'm sitting in the living room (on the laptop, remember), with all of the windows closed in an attempt to block out the sound of the generator and noisy digging machine at the building site/large hole across the road. A cement lorry has just pulled up to join in the fun. *twitch* *blink* *twitch* Paula- can we come back?

Stick a microphone into the laptop, record the noise of the heavy machinery, and play it back at the Gildredge!

Well the good news is that the diggers have stopped for the day...the bad news is, there appears to be a man having a long, loud shouting match (with himself, I think!) at the bottom of the road. Ahhh, St Leonards.

If the stupid geezer-bloke builder over the road doesn't SHUT.THE.FUCK.UP. for two minutes, I'm going to grab his stupid pork pie hat and throw it into the big hole they've just dug.
It's like trying to work across the road from Chas and fucking Dave.
Shuuuuuuuuuuut uuuuuuuuuup.

If they are Council-contracted, make a complaint. They're not allowed to offend you.

The Gildredge gig also now features I'm Being Good, if that helps make anyone's mind up.
I didn't get the impression Caroline's nearby-builder was being offensive, just loud?

In that case, can I just re-iterate FREE GIG! And double-check that line-up: CharlieUniformNovemberTango are brilliant; and, for the slower ones of you, Ecstatic Peace! is Thurston Moore & Byron Coley's label, which should be a Trade Mark Of Quality.

I didn't get the impression Caroline's nearby-builder was being offensive, just loud? Not offensive, just a bit gobby- am grumpy about the building work, full stop, as it's so close and so loud, meaning that I have to choose at the moment between having the windows closed and suffocating, or having them open and not being able to hear myself think. His continual geezer-bloke chatter was just a bit too much this afternoon. I'm sure he's a very nice man, really. But he does have a very silly hat!

Sunday 9th November
'Dave Rave', Volks Tavern, Brighton. 9pm-3am.
With such folk as Ceephax, the Wrong Music lot (Shitmat, DJ Scotch Egg et al), and - and I'm quite pleased about this 'cos I presciently suggested it in my East review a few months back - P For Persia and Charlie Uniform November Tango, amongst many others.
Result!

I hadn't seen this before - Charlie Uniform November Tango on YouTube , including, I think, bits from the Gildredge gig we went to (or another gig at the Gildredge anyway). What a band!

No worries - we just got home from seeing Henry Shitmat this evening actually, doing his bass guitar/vacuum cleaner Slash's Wormhole set at Spirit Of Gravity at the Komedia. Will keep an eye out for the Eastbourne gig, ta. stu

Couple of minutes of P For Persia at the King & Queen last week here. The amps had pretty much melted & burnt during Pink Narcissus' set, but P4P managed another 15 minutes before the King & Queen management pulled the plugs.

I thought Sunn O))) had permenantly buggered up my hearing the other weekend at ATP. When I got back to the chalet the noise (howling and whistling) in my ears was almost exactly the same as when I was in the venue with the band playing - it was quite scary. But then when I woke up they were fine. Odd.
