apparently carrie has had several anaphylactic allergic reactions over the last few weeks and they don't yet know what she's allergic to. understandably she doesn't want to tour europe, and probably couldnt be insured to do it anyway. But that does screw irreparably with my triple whammy long weekend. Melt banana, truman's water (yes, 10 years ago truman's water, so excited), and i'm being good on the 6th. lady sovereign on the 7th. and sleater kinney on the 8th. bah. in other news, a couple of new brighton bands to look out for: leopard leg (all-girl drums quartet, fronted by the lovely maia and margarita, and backed by the less than lovely robin and maureen), who are off on tour with XBXRX; and the truly scrumptious Polly Shang Huan. run, don't walk.

If she's been ill for a while, yes they could've cancelled much sooner, and saved some heartache. Better than having a temp. guitarist, 'cos that wouldn't be the same Sleater-Kinney. (nb: Only good example of a temp. guitarist I can recall is when I saw Royal Trux at some festival back in the mid-90's, and Neil Hegarty was "ill" and got replaced by David Pajo). Also, don't force Carrie Brownstein out on tour - she is my unknowing future partner (those eyes, that mouth, as I believe someone once said). Except I wanna take issue with an NME article she wrote a few months ago, taking some of the current crop of guitar bands to task for sounding like Gang Of Four and not trying to discover an original sound: to which the answer (particularly since she's clearly aware of Leeds post-punk groups) is THE AU-PAIRS! THE AU-PAIRS! THE AU-PAIRS! I'm right, you know.

stop fancying lesbians.
carrie will be MINE. once, when drunk, paffy showed me a polaroid he took of a sleaterkinney show we were at, and i actually drooled. i so cannot imagine sk without her. especially not after the woods, which is such a carrie record.

I possibly haven't read enough Sleater-Kinney interviews that closely, 'cos I didn't realise she was a lesbian, or I'd deliberately fogged-over that part in order to maintian my illusion. It's pop music, what're you gonna do? Of course, you're in with a much better chance than me then! Try your luck at next year's ATP: "Oh...I do happen to have a couple of bottles of red back in my chalet..." etc. My problem of being a bisexual man predominantly atracted to lesbians was dealt with partly in that article I wrote for you (and I will get the rest of it done, as you requested, sometime soon, I promise). Though on the one hand, I've done alright with the relationships I've had with lesbian-leaning women, a comment of Ade's once has been quite a useful reality check: Me - Actually, most of the women I know back in Hastings are lesbians... Ade - I'm not suprised.
Boom-boom.

yeah, well. i'm a bisexual woman predominantly attracted to fags. whatareyagonna do.
interestingly though, i'd say of our circle of friends, we've probably seen more action than most. these homo types don't always walk it like they talk it, fortunately enough.

I don't know what HAWT stands for, but I think I can guess... No, you didn't mention that. Was that the Brighton gig Laura & I came down to when I was living in Hertfordshire, and we were all dressed in white?
That reminds me; I may eventually start a thread under the following title, but (and I'm speaking for me, Laura and Paula): Natasha Morris - Where Are You Now?
Oh, and yeah, you're right, bisexuals do have more and better sex - or at least, they do if they sleep with me or Petra, ha.

Hmm, well, that's what I thought the first three words might be, but 'Trevor'? Lee is guessing too, I suspect. Unless I'm missing a vital cultural reference here.

I kinda assumed HAWT as in "Hoooooot", but could be being incredibly naive...
