If I knew what that meant then I would probably agree.

That's a point, is this an International download for Haunting The Townsfolk, or does it just apply to UK Amazon customers (which is what I'd expect really)?

Go on Nick, be the guinea pig!
By the way, although I'd happily give props to the album there, my Amazon log-in name makes me too obviously related to Michael to add a review (professional organisation that they are, they'd probably notice that trick).

It's available in the US and UK Amazon stores and will be available in the iTunes U.S. iTunes Australia/N.Z. iTunes Canada, iTunes UK/European Union & iTunes Japan on or before 18th March.
Will be doing a similar release of Broken Down Whiskey Sound in the near future.

As for Stu's point they have no way of knowing as they only get the cover artwork and mp3 file so they won't know the personnel on the record.

That's an impressive spread - gives the family Huggett and Charlie Ridding a chance to hear it off iTunes Aus/NZ too.
Once it's up on iTunes everywhere, are you gonna try and drum up some wider publicity for it, home & abroad?
I'll do you a quick Amazon review in a moment anyway.

Now available in iTunes!
Stu, would you mind if I copied your Amazon review for iTunes and credit it to Dizzy Tiger Stu?

good work boys! very wierd but very exciting to see the album on amazon, will be downloading it as a i get round to it... great review stu and would probably give it a go based on that alone, but very obviously written by an acquaintance of the band due to the warm affectionate tone... not sure if that was intended..?

I thought it was balanced, but clearly the work of a Hastings resident. BTW I always said that there were too many stops and starts in New Scars. But would they listen?

Now available in iTunes! Stu, would you mind if I copied your Amazon review for iTunes and credit it to Dizzy Tiger Stu? That's fine with me, although there might be things in the small print of both Amazon and iTunes that request reviews aren't replicated elsewhere. Although that may only apply to the writer submitting the same review to different sites - if it's you quoting it it should be ok. When I submitted the Amazon review, it asked where I was submitting it from, and I put Hastings to indicate that there was a degree of local knowledge that would have influenced the review, so it is as intended. I think it should say I've submitted it from Hastings if you check around the review on Amazon. Paula (and anyone) - I think you're gonna love the album. As Marcus said before, it does sound a companion piece to Broken Down, Whiskey Sound, despite the years seperating the recordings.

We quite consciously mirrored the running order of Broken Down Whiskey Sound, we always think in terms of 2 sides to a record and I see Taste Of The Gravel and Knives Slip In as performing a similar function in terms of a summation of the themes of both records.
This is the last Rumiko Jr album that will have that sound and singer songwriterly bent. The next release (recording will commence in the coming weeks) is a more of an alt-rock affair. You can dance to it - as the gig at the Monkey amply demonstrated. Lyrically Dean is dipping into his psyche for inspiration, so it is less of a "Hastings" record. The release of Haunting The Townsfolk, despite having a different line up to our debut, signifies the end of Rumiko Jr part one and I hope people cherish it as the distillation of what we were about - a band with a love of country music, 70's rock and the indie scenes of the 80's and early 90's, that strove to tell honest narratives about the town they live in.
We remain a truly independent band, with total control over the creative process, free from outside assistance or influence. We self-record and self-produce and I am incredibly proud that we are able to produce a record of the quality of Haunting The Townsfolk with such limited resources. It just takes a long time, I promise it won't take as long next time.

Although I've got a busy week, I should be able to write you an alternate review of the album for iTunes in the next few days, so don't worry about trying to use the Amazon one (although you're still welcome to quote from it at any time). I've only ever used iTunes once, to get the Mumm-ra demo, but it's still installed on our wonky computer.

Have already used it under the nick name of "Dizzy Tiger Stu".
If what you are going to write differs substantially from the other review then I suggest you pick an alternative nickname and use that. Unlike Amazon there is no connection between your user name and that in the review.

Hey Stu would it be a pain for you to do a review of our album on ITunes? Thinking about it, it seems a good idea. Shame you couldn't make the gig on monday, it was a corker. The Latest7 reviewed it...let's hope they are kind to us!

Sure thing Alfie, I'll try and get one done in the next few daysfor you.
Glad Monday went well: Carolyn had got us a pair of tickets to the NME Awards Tour at Brighton Dome as a Valentine's present, so we were at that instead! A few points arising from the NME gig:
- White Lies sound absolutely huge, and could well be the big success of the tour (helpfully co-inciding with their album being #1 and all that). - Friendly Fires are the only really innovative act on the bill: it's worth seeing them at the Eastbourne event in April to see them pull disco sounds out of their guitar. - The popularity of Glasvegas has been somewhat over-rated. Half the audience left during their headline slot. - Florence & The (Marketing) Machine are embarrassingly stage-school theatrical, as you will see when they get a Brit Award on Wednesday. Rubbish. - Brighton Dome has the worst acoustics in the town. A pint of lager (one choice: Carlsberg) costs £5 at the bar (cash only). Therefore, Carolyn & I had an exciting half-a-pint each during the evening. And then went to the pub! - Diane Vickers' hairstyle (sic) is an inspiration to many teenagers.

I'll stick a tenner in the post to shop on Monday - I passed Rich the 2 Rumiko albums down the Basement last night, then got fucked on Dean's Jack Daniels and forgot about it. In fact, if anyone can remember anything at all that happened down the Basement once the whiskey appeared, I'd be most grateful. According to my phone, I did take a photo of the Dodgeball toilet though...

What number in Claremont is the Musical Xchange? And I assume that's still what the sign over the shop says, and not Music Xchange, Musical Exchange, or any other variation?
