Nice one, I reckon this'll be grand! And Corb Lund is one of Carrie's absolute favourites...

Stu? Have we got a gig at Harpers next Friday? Cos it says so on your website.
No one thought about telling me? I'm only the lead guitar player! Oh and I am a golden God.

The info I put on my site is taken from Regular John's message boards (the Guestbook at http://www.regularjohn.co.uk), though Michael reckoned last night that it might just refer to Dean solo (unless the John forgot to ask..?) I'll amend my site as soon as any clarification/amendment appears on Regular John's site, or if I hear from anyone in the meantime. Without wishing to denigrate any other band member's abilities and contributions, I think it's safe in the meantime for me to copy the name Rumiko Jr onto my site, without pissing-off any punter who turns up on Friday expecting a full band, and getting Dean solo instead. But as soon as anyone gets the full story, post-it up here, and I'll correct (if necessary) asap!
Nice to see you on the site Carrie, by the way. Though, as I type this, you're upstairs, so I'm sure it'll also be nice to see you passing by on the landing later.

At long last!! Is this actually anything to do with me giving Dave a copy of your album? He sent an email back saying he liked it but I'm sure that was over a year ago.... Unless time is random.

Not really Lee, although Dave did email me after getting the copy you gave him saying that he would put us on at some point. But to be honest I think it had more to do with the fact that TGPOS owed Simon a favour. Thus proving once again it ain't what you know...

The Regular John posters for Harpers this Friday state 'Deano & guests', so that sorts that one out.
If Simon ever owes you lot a favour, can you force him to sign Regular John, please? This continues to be a crime of omission!

Yeah I think I'm the guests... Rumour has it there maybe a bit of a Lynyrd Skynyrd inter-band love-in at some point during The Regular Johns set.
I think we will be owing Simon favours for some years to come. I love the fact that RJ aren't signed, it proves that we're right and the industry is deaf. I like being right.

Gonna have to start abbreviating this one more carefully: RJn & RJr? The entire UK music industry being a bunch of fuckwits may only be of scant consolation for the John, shouting "Ha Ha! We were right all along!" as their boat goes down, as massed-ranks of NME journos wave at them from the shore's of Tom Watkins' tax-exile island.

Dammit Stu, when you're right, you're right.
Anyway I think they should be made to wallow in artistic obscurity until they're 30, otherwise they ain't paid their dues.

Well you know I saw the word the word Sin and I thought you had dedicated a whole thread to my memory. Realising this was not the case I decided to read on through your entries.
First of all please do talk about us, in fact please shout our name when you are on the job! Or maybe not. No pressure.
As for paying our dues until we are thirty- I don't think I can last 5 years! But if we combine our age it takes us to a total of 97.
Anyway sorry if there was any confusion on who was meant to play last night. I think someone might of said to Del that he could play as well. To be honest I don't think any of us really knew. Hayley found out because she saw her name on the poster!
Gig was a good crack although I still can't hear too well, this being because of Bonj's amp being at head height 2 inches away from me. We were not that good, but when it gets to that time and everyone has drunk too much its not generally noticed. Hayley, Dean, Marcus, Rufus and Adam on the other hand were really good. Cheers for playing. See you all soon.

Sorry I missed it: finances etc. Apologised to Bonj & Pete outside the basement. Glad it went well though: Happy (belated) Birthday to the John!

Roger Dean Young & The Tin Cup have been added to the Corb Lund bill. If the track on the Loose Records web site is anything to go by then expect trumpets, murky distorted guitars and heavy use of tremolo. Yes my country monkeys, it's gonna be a beauty.

I realised the other day that the farthest away from the house I've been so far this year is to Traffers, by Edgerton Park in Bexhill (to the West). To the East, it'd be the coastguard station on the Firehills; and to the North, the Hastings Observer offices at Woods House, at the top of Battle Road. So that's more reason than before to make it out to Brighton for this gig!
The subsequent Tatty Bogle gig coincides with the Nathan Fake/Uneven Dots/Rashamon gig at Harpers though, so I think I'll see Lee that night. Shame, 'cos am very curious about your one!

I'm an idiot, and can't even read my own site. Isn't the London gig a week after Lee's Harpers gig? Probably...

Meaning to pop to Brighton tomorrow to check ticket situation for this: I may not be able to get online again before then, so unless you're all at Revolver for Deano tonight, then give us a bell or something if you want me to try and pick stuff up.

Right, haven't been able to get over to Brighton, but according to the posters and flyers that are all over Hastings (good job there, someone), it's £6 plus booking-fee in advance from Rounder and Resident, or £7 on the door, which is such little difference I'm gonna take my chance on the night. At home, we're waiting for the AOL bill to be paid (I've clicked on our old pay-as-you-go to write this), so I can't actually play around for too long on the computers on my day off today, bah. Another day of walking over the Firehills then!

Hello people, re: transport to the Gilded Palace of Sin gig in Brighton. Lee is taking the band to the gig in his big van so we wont be sorting transport for the audiance as with the last Brighton gig. For those who want to come, it's prpbably best to sort out some kind of shared taxi bus thing. I guess the same goes for the London gig the following weekend. :-)

The London gig is the 25th, so only a couple of days after the Brighton one: I guess that is the following weekend though, depending on your concept of time. I'm gonna get the train over after work, and probably miss the end of Corb Lund in order to get the last train back (usually about 11.30, I hope), if anyone wants to risk running for that with me...

Dean suggested last night that we network all our various friends with aim of getting a bus. I'll try And compile a list if anyone's up for it.

Re the bus idea, I'd be up for that (assuming I can get my work stuff finished in time to be going out, and that enough people are interested to make it worthwhile).
And (as I don't think she frequents the boards very often) think Carrie and Tom would be too, although you'd have to check...
Edited to add:
Erp. Finances looking a bit shakey. Keep me informed, though, and if I can afford it, I will...

Well that went well, I thought! Carolyn got on her bus, and Maya and I made it onto the last train, so I got home and into work fine today, though I'm a bit hungover. Glad I picked up a Corb Lund/Arlenes 7" for myself (and Carrie too, as a consolation for missing the gig), it's a beauty. Anyone found a full line-up for tomorrow's Tatty Bogle gig yet?
