Bookended by a minute of the Closedown tone, this seems to be the only place currently to see Mumm-Ra's video for 'Starlight' (the sticker on the front of their album hinted at a single release, that never happened). Even if you don't like Mumm-Ra, why not play 'Spot the locations'? www.youtube.com/watch?v=5mxG4ml8_TM

Original clear vinyl pressing of 'What Would Steve Do?' makes it into this year's Record Collector article on '100 Modern Collectibles' (erm, £7.00 value). Will it rise or fall?

Yep - Farewell gig at this years Black Horse, inexplicably for a recently major label band with extensive worldwide touring experience they are headlining the Young Bands Stage. I don't deny that they are young and I appreciate the symmetry of putting them in the same slot as 4 years ago but really WTF is Shotton playing at? Anyway I reckon we should get the bus over and see 'em off with a few drinks. www.blackhorsemusicfestival.org.uk/index3.htm

Gee, let's hope the raffle doesn't over-run! Noo was at the Pressure Point the other evening to see Her Name In Blood, incidentally. He seemed, from a distance, cheerful enough.

It's Noo & Tate's new band, isn't it? Pulse Magazine got the first heads-up on this, and Mumm-Ra seemed to confirm it via a MySpace Bulletin over the weekend.

Yep - Noo and Tate. Sounds like Noo's been using David Byrne's singing tutor. Good though, in an 80's revival kind of way. Still got some of those clever fast chord movements on the bridge. They sound like contenders.

As one of the posters on the Mirrors MySpace says, it's very close to the Mystery Jets' current sound.

We picked up a couple of tickets (#1 & 2, in fact) at Resident this afternoon, for tonight's Mirrors gig at New Hero. Will report back on how they are later in the week, but in the meantime, click on that link to the New Hero MySpace and scroll down for a look at the Mirrors gig flyer: there's a kind-of dapper Devo look going on... They're mentioned in the current NME, and this month's edition of The Fly too, so the press ball is rolling again.
