Thought I would start this thread so that we don't fill up the other threads with stuff on the lines of "what's everyone up to later?". Granted Paula's response will probably be something on the lines of "gutting fish" or "Knitting a hut out of tofu" but for the rest of us in civilisation (and St Leonards) it might be useful.
So to kick things off: Anyone going to see Tim Smart in Harpers later?

No. I'm going to the Sussex Arts Club to see The Pipettes, Miss Pain, Britch and Monster Bobby. I might have a little dance, y'know.

hello there! actually i was thinking of nipping over to the mainland to attend the jumble sale in gweek which was advertised on the local news last night, that is if i can move in these galoshes(?) and souwester and life jacket etc... theres also a load of 7's and 8's coming in so the journey might be a bit more than lumpy... as for the gutting of fish, went shrimping yesterday but only caught 7! was just about enough for a vol-au-vent but as we dont have such modern delicacies in these here parts just ate them from the shells! yum!!! ;D

You're going to a jumble sale in Cornwall tonight? Some kind of 24 hour jumble sale? A jumblethon?
Was possibly gonna catch up with Del, but not heard from him yet. Or maybe Horse & Groom with Michael and Caroline. Not sure I'm sociable enough for Harpers tonight, enjoyable as Tim's set down Revolver the other week was.
I want to do what Lee's doing!

Well I hope the Jumble Sale was good and not too smelly as Nick pointed out. I didn't have a dance but met the lovely gals from Miss Pain - very friendly people! Shame the sound was crap - maybe its because we were all sitting in the corner of the room. Pipettes - very fuckin ace.

Sarah Pain used to do Squaresville stuff with Laura, so I met her a few times there. I agree, got on alright with her. Funny band.

Oh, Bank Holiday Monday over here. Anyone up for... - Yprestock 2, Rye: Mama Josie's All-Stars, Pablo Diablo (?), The Big Blue (?) - Harpers End Of Summer Party, Hastings: Regular John, Dean, Greg Mulhearn (not, as on the posters, Hayley - she's had her baby!)
By the way, I've lost my railcard, let me know if you find it.

Think I might be Jim for the night so I shall be in Harpers. Will probably give Yprestock a swerve as I am going to the zoo tomorrow, zoo tomorrow and the chances are I will stay all day.
Tonight though the 16 track is back from Dave the Hair and Rumiko begin recording the album, so later I shall be snivelling in a corner, wearing ear defenders, wondering when the drumming will stop.

Well, you were Jim in the paper a couple of months back, just watch out for UB40 doing the skank. Yep, Harpers seems to be the popular choice. Will speak to you in the next day or so about Axis Deer again, as Michael's been in touch about it. Have fun at the zoo. Isn't that where's everything's happening, or something?

Well, it was nice of Marcus to ask everyone, and good of you to reply, so thank you. How polite. I seem to spending most of the Bank Holiday on my own (though I just had a drink in Tin Tins with Michael Axis Deer, and saw Dean and Helen in the guitar shop) - it's alright, but people are welcome to PM me if they're bored and wanna hook-up, 'cos if I can't spend this Bank Holiday in company I'm going to have to watch Doctor Who and the Claws Of Axos (courtesy of Carrie) instead. (nb: next on the shopping list has to be Doctor Who and the Sea Devils and Adam..)
UPDATED: The Claws Of Axos won-out then...lots of fun, in the Dungeness style. Late-night booty-calls notwithstanding, I'll see y'all at Harpers for the mighty Regular John tomorrow.

Apart from getting hassled by kids outside Yates' at 4am, the walk to and from Emma's last night was also useful, in that the hidden concept behind the forthcoming Christmas present audio documentary tape began to reveal itself. I knew there'd be one! More details to follow later in the year, after I've stretched the conceit out a bit more.

Guy Fawkes' Night then: - Lee's party? - Helen's Party? - Jonathan's gig? - or fireworks?
I'm tending towards Helen's party.

Hurrah! One would almost suspect that Lisa is logging on and pretending to be Marcus again (I'll catch you next time Penelope Pitstop!) I shall be attending too, though I fear I shall arrive without partner. However: as they say on the Continent, I shall be 'on the pull.' Capital!

Sociological report: So, just been down my local with Caroline and Carrie (and, for a while, non-drinker Lou). Actually found it a lot more relaxing not thinking about whether to get another pint, half etc before last orders. We just ordered the drinks we felt capable of having, and drank them up in our own time. In conclusion: am quite happy with the cessation of drinking restrictions originally put into place during the Great War. Almost feels like the Old Town has regained some of its earlier character (although that's probably an effect of the alcohol). Still, am at home typing this, not out causing trouble etc, so... Hope you had a safe evening, x

Back from Bexhill now, but I'm still a bit flaky, so if I go anywhere it'll probably only be as far as the Gritti Palace for a bit (dj Bubblepop Electric and dj Captain Easychord, ie Maya and a friend, are playing). Had a listen to the Star Scream sampler cd they were giving away last night though: I thought they were a lot better than I was expecting when I saw them live, but the cd does place them a bit to firmly in an unholy middle-ground between Muse and Sigue Sigue Sputnik. Any opinions? www.starscream.co.uk Del's Midget Bardot set was a treat though, especially that Regular John -backed version of The Weekend's Ashes. Good work from you Rumiko mob too, even though Mikey was stuck in the corner and got a bit moody about it all! Missed Regular John, as I rushed off just as they were starting up. Sorry everyone. Can I cite personal reasons again? Or just the fact that I was completely drunk by that point? Good to see you over on MySpace now, at least. Have a good evening all.
