Hi - I've been in meetings for the last couple of days so haven't had a chance to book everything. After seeing Paulas note I think I'll leave it until Mr Stereo confirms.

Ok Reu, Carolyn's booked a 4-berth for weekend two: with booking fee it's £133.00 each, get saving! If I see you down the pub I'll send you home! If Paul doesn't go, we'll have an extra space: Bonj?

Feeling a bit more with-it now, so just been checking further additions to next year's ATP weekends. Paula may be slightly excited by the confirmation of Bert Jansch for Devandra Banhart's day...

oh man!!! best one ever, cant wait... tickets are all paid for for weekend one, anyone else coming or shall i play musical beds by myself all weekend?

Have you paid for them then, or has Lee? In which case, what size chalet have we got? One year we did all play musical beds actually, only so that everyone got a turn sharing the sofa bed. I can't remember why that was really, I'm happy to sleep with anyone, they probably just didn't want to sleep with me! But yeah: me, you, Carolyn, Lee, Dolby, Reuben? If you and Dolby want to share a bed you could take the lounge, but if you want privacy take one of the rooms. I'll probably end up sharing with Reuben somehow anyway, so I'm sure it'll be fine.

Just a bit of a coincidence really. But yeah, how much psychedelic wig-out guitar action can we take in one weekend? Loads!

Just filled-in the rest of the 2003 ATP review in The Archive. Even with a slight edit (a piece I'd done for Lyn) there's loads and loads I'd forgotten I'd written there.
I'm still working through my fanzine notebook, so it's gonna take ages to get everything up on that thread that may have some relevance to what we're still up to (I've just found a review of a Clearlake gig I'd forgotten I'd done too), but it's getting there.

Don;t get me wrong, I am not complaining, am happy with line ups, but what happened to not repeating acts - I kinda thought that was one of the fundamental elements of ATP?
If that was the case, and it is quite likely I am wrong, then they've clearly changed their policy - I was just wondering why.

I think its because they're uncaring, moneygrabbing tossers. Still - can't wait to go!!

The idea of not repeating acts went out long ago (Mogwai played both Bowlie and the first ATP; I've not checked the other ATP line-ups yet, but The Fall played both the 2002 Shellac and 2003 Autechre years) - I think they realised that (i) If ATP was gonna continue it was unrealistic to find a whole new bill every year (and wouldn't that tie the curators' hands?) and (ii) Some of the bands that made their UK debuts at ATP (...Trail Of Dead, Lightning Bolt) deserved better than one chance to appear (bearing in mind these acts weren't that well-known at the time). I'm sure we've had this discussion several times before, you know!

By the way, I think I should be able to get my dosh to you at the end of this month (and Paula's during), accidents permitting. Got the time off work now anyway (bar the Monday back after Weekend One, so it'll be the early morning 701 bus back to Hastings for me!)

Ok, corrected my holidays: I'll still be there, of course! And I think I might have left my address book round my parents' place. Bloody hell, is anything interesting happening this weekend? I've got three hours of computer animation to get through on a dvd that came with The Wire otherwise.

Weekend Two confirmations from Joanna Newsom and Eater. As in the ancient punk group Eater. They're not backing Joanna Newsom, obviously... Found my address book, for those of you gripped by the saga!
