It's Deano's monthly slot at La Pattie Cafe, Cambridge Road, Hastings tonight. Tim Hoyte's due to play too, and most of us are going along... be fun!

A Disastronaut promotion? So it's genuinely our Dean & Rufus then! Fucking brilliant, I'll go!
Next month, Mrs Yarringtons present Tim Hoyte, Flying Marrows, and Whitehouse.

Actually a brief check on my finances means I'm gonna skip Shoreditch tonight in favour of seeing Mumm-Ra tomorrow, when I've been paid. Would be great to be able to do it all!

Dean actually popped by yesterday evening after I'd posted that: it is Le Pattie Cafe tonight. He's got a cellist playing too. See people there?

Hey Carolyn, Rumiko happy to play your birthday party if you cover the petrol. Just post the date and other details so we can check the diary.

Thanks! It is 4th May, Brighton, venue is booked 9-2 and I'm guessing you'd rather do early. I have a couple of DJs too. They can play around you. I think I could stretch to a pint each as well!

Dean at Le Pattie Cafe again this evening?

Post by stuhuggett on Mar 9, 2007 14:22:33 GMT 1
I think the next gigs are:
Dean, Hayley, Nathan and, um, was it Tim? at Eat@, Claremont, tomorrow - followed by Regular John and the Italian male/female stoner-rock band at Brass Monkey (or Sarah-Jane's 30th down the pub).
Dean should be at Le Pattie Cafe again, next Tuesday.
As their mail-out said: Rumiko's Archway Tavern gig is postponed, but they're still at Smugglers on Saturday 24th.
Dean back at Pattie Cafe, Tuesday 27th.
Rumiko & Regular John (&?, &?) at Dogstar, Brixton, 31st March - although the new series of Doctor Who starts the same evening...
Loads and loads then!

There's a nice illustrated preview of the Dogstar, Brixton gig in the Hastings Observer this week: just a shame it's been postponed, eh? Perhaps Rich Morris could report that in next week's edition? Oh well, see you all down Smugglers tonight instead!

I'm out for a belated birthday dinner with my folks tonight, and Michael's working, so I'm afraid we won't be out... Have a good time though. x

...But will have been paid on Friday, so it's Rumiko Jr & Regular John downstairs at The Carlisle!
There's an outside chance that the new issue of East might have made it into the pubs by then (the publication date is Sunday 27th May, but it was out on the Friday last month...) so hopefully people will want to buy me congratulatory drinks, rather than pouring them over my head, but you never know.

Can you tell me when you get a copy of East? There will be a awful review of our gig in Eastbourne (the one that we had to do as a duo at the last minute because we got let down by the now-sacked bass player!) and i would like to read it so i don't get involved with unreliable musicians again!

|
|
Post by Michael on May 24, 2007 11:24:13 GMT 1
So you're on the look out for musicians that arn't unreliable? Good luck :-)

Post by alfie on May 24, 2007 11:38:48 GMT 1
Yeah, everyone is a bit unreliable but pulling out of 2 gigs in 2 weeks at the last minute is taking the piss! Also, not apologizing and not replying to texts and calls is just plain rude!

Today's Hastings Observer previews tonight's gig at The Carlisle (p41) with a feature (drawn from Myspace) that promises:
"Rumiko Jr and Regular John will take to the stage to remind everyone just how much Hastings can rock."
No pressure there!

Nice one, Alfie, that's a great photo! How was that gig?
Nb: Before Google put all our personal details on file, I'm still enjoying the way this thread brings up Google-ads for Dean Wareham, and that Rufus' thread brings up Rufus Wainwright, of course.
