Check the site now - odd things going on but it looks like Nightmare before Xmas 2006 has Iggy and the Stooges and Sonic Youth. However, the venue has changed to Minehead!
Hopefully not the shape of venues to come?...
And I'm not lying this time.

There's a Butlins at Minehead - I went there as a kid...

Shit. The only way I'd been able to go to a lot of the ATP events in recent year had been by crossing back and forth between Camber and work in Bexhill. I can't take time off in December either. That counts me out of Nightmare Before Christmas this year (unless I change jobs), and quite probably other ATP events if they're making Minehead Butlins their new home (not just 'cos of work, but for financial reasons as well). Still, fun while it lasted (sniff).

Crap, crap, and triple crap. That'll teach me to procrastinate. Why fucking Minehead, of all places? (Anyone willing to sneak Michael, me and the kitten into their luggage for one of this year's Camber weekends then? We're well-behaved and toilet-trained...well, me and the kitten are, at any rate ) Am off to pout now.

There's no reason why the good people of Somerset shouldn't have an ATP festival to go to (though arguably having Glastonbury on their doorstep should already be enough for them). It's not that far from us either, just too far to be convenient in the way Camber is.
Support your local Rocksalts Festival! That's the way to go!

Yeah...I'm a little concerned about Weekend Two (even though I'm not going)....
I expect its got a bit too big for its britches and Minehead Butlins is a bit bigger (although Marcus can confirm this - doubtless he may think its bigger because he was very wee when he went). Its not going to make too much odds to the overseas visitors anyway...

Its got a flume based log ride!
And a self catering/room only option.
And lots more!
Camber you fucking loser....

I wish they'd hurry up and put Weekend Two's details back online, to put my mind at rest. If they're having to move it to Minehead as well, that fucks my plans.

Oh, that's alright, the Weekend Two page is back, but with no further updates. Was Lee's Can comment an April Fool's Joke, cunningly delivered on April 2nd to catch people out? Holger Czukay cancelled his appearance last Christmas, by the way, so would've been nice of him to try and make it up this time!

That is a relief - have spent the morning wondering how we'd get to minehead for weekend two.
I'm quite tempted by the xmas one - would need more planning though. It would be good to have a change of scene - even if it will be quite a trial to get there. Hope their chalets are warmer than the Camber ones in December. Brrrr.

If it's gonna be Minehead permanently (or for a while) then I don't mind going down in the Spring, it's a nice part of the country. But Christmas anywhere further than a train or bus ride away from Bexhill counts me out 'cos of work. Unless I change my working life between now and then. It's tempting!

A guy at work said the last time he went to Minehead Butlins was 20 years ago and they had the log flume ride then! (bit like Camber methinks....)
He also said it was a bit scary there. And it was shit.
Wonder if Camber has had a lick of paint since last year?

Are you joking Lee? I bet they have not repaired the door I accidentally kicked in in 2001. Come on, surely someone is tempted for a little pre xmas music? (Stu - not if you're gonna lose your job tho...) I wonder if there is a support group for ATP addicts.

I'm still quite distraught that Ridding ended.

I see godspeed, and a silver mount zion have done sets there! Damn I would pay just to go see those two, but seems this year not any bands I would like to see!

The ATP promoters pretty much launched the careers of Godspeed! and the other Constellation groups through their ATP appearances and related gigs around those times. Always brilliant stuff.

Constellation is the most amazing label! So many great artists, and so much effort put into their vinyl/cd releases.

I've got an erratic cd/radio thingy, about the size of a football, if necessary. Just a handy thing to have around if we pick-up any cds there!

Yay! Did you have to sign for them? I'm guessing Paula's organised it so the Weekend One tickets are sent to my house, but if it's recorded delivery I'll have to pick them up at the sorting office on Wednesday. Two weeks! And I've got a great couple of weekends lined-up to fill the time 'til then too (Jack In The Green this week; a housewarming party next week). Whoo!

BTW - on my instruction sheets is says that the entire party must arrive together - but for weekend one - one of us could pretend to be Paula - as long as we have her 'see tickets' ref number and the paperwork??
Anyway, we'll sort something out.
Is it time to get excited yet?
