Ok, need May 9th-11th off work then, yay!
We pointed out to Rufus yesterday that Weekend Two will actually be in Minehead, so everyone for Weekend One then?
Incidentally, Carolyn found an undeveloped camera the other week: turns out to be full of b&w photos from the Autechre ATP, along with one shot of Donkey Kong Jr playing the Freebutt, if anyone else wants to see them.

Reu - you'll have to keep pushing Rufus etc for ATP, as I'm already in a full chalet of four. But do come!

ATP have just announced some My Bloody Valentine dates for next summer - for those who might be interested. I think the details will be on See Tickets website.

I might pitch an 'Adventures at ATP' article for East next year, if people don't mind being written about whilst we're there.

If East do an ATP article, it'll be as a preview, so I'm gonna put some thought into what might work - Any suggestions?

Post by carolyn on Nov 27, 2007 19:21:44 GMT 1
What would be the focus of the preview stu? It would all be sold out by the time it appeared in East I would have thought? Will it have a local angle?
Just been looking through the bands playing the camber one - must be a max of 10 women appearing as artists, and they are from just a handful of bands. This is just typical of ATP. It is such a shame Foundation don't address this in their choice of curators.

I should add that I do like the sounds of lots of the acts who are playing. Am having fun in internet cafe listening to lthem. I like the new Hot Chip single that it out in new year.

Joe and I have press passes, but those don't include accommodation. Could we maybe crash on someone's floor for a night? Don't worry, I'm sure he'll keep me in check.

I can't see that that would be a problem, so long as you're both ok with fitting onto the floor of the chalet's lounge after the sofa bed's been folded out. Cramped!

Can't wait.
The NY one looks reet shite. Don't look back taken to extremes. ATP should be looking forward, not exhausting the pool of 1989-1999 indie that they've tended to specialise in.

3 hours of Ween on Friday; Hot Chip on Saturday. If only it had been the other way around, we'd probably have caught The Fall at the De La Warr instead.

Yeah, I just checked the email I originally sent them - it's definitely their typo. All other punctuation errors, mis-spellings, bad grammar, false perspectives and generally bad writing are all my own work!
The photo is of Glass Candy, by the way.

Another Nightmare Before Christmas event has been announced for Minehead in December.
Curated by Mike Patton (who I was in love with when I was 15). Unfortunately Neil Hamburger is one of the early confirmations.

Ok, details for next year's ATP's have been announced today. Both weekends are in Minehead:
8th-10th May: 'The Fans Strike Back' (half ATP choices, half public choices) - with Spiritualized, Devo...
15th-17th May: Curated by The Breeders - with Throwing Muses, Teenage Fanclub...
It's time to make your mind up, it's make your mind up time... (nb: Bedazzled probably not playing)
