It'll be a beauty - we've got new songs and all that. Come down, bring the kids.

Am I right in thinking it's Hastings Bonfire tomorrow evening? If so, and people are going, I was hoping to head over. Any other events of note happening?

Think most people planning to be out and about in some capacity, Stu (although Michael's working the next day, so if we are out, probably won't be a late one...) Will let you know what we're doing when we've decided. x

Cheers, As I'm still waiting for any work or benefits to come through, I'd be funding coming over on my credit card, and would have to plan any drinking accordingly (ie off licence, or pubs that take cards), um, so let me know plans this afternoon, please! Ta, x

For anyone who still listens to Mark Radcliffe & Stuart Maconie on Radio 2 weekday evening, a reminder that The Leisure Society (of 'The Last Of The Melting Snow', um, fame) are playing over the road from us at the Sanctuary Cafe cellar on Saturday (29th Nov) if you're interested in coming along. www.myspace.com/theleisuresociety

Ahead of this weekend's events, would anyone be up for a trip to Eastbourne on Friday evening to an artists' space near the station for a duo performance by Deepkiss720 and Geoff Leigh ? The details are on their MySpaces. As his page shows (or Reuben can tell you), Geoff has an interesting musical history, taking in Henry Cow, Slapp Happy, Faust, Kevin Ayres, and countless others. Our friend Laura wanted to see some live music on this Friday's pay-day, and the closest thing of any interest is that hyped La Roux at the New Hero club near Brighton's clock tower, but we might be able to push for an experimental Eastbourne adventure if people fancy it.

The Long Goodbye at the Smugglers this saturday, full band but no keyboards as usual, some new songs on the setlist! And a messy knees-up after. Is anyone up for it?

It's Xanten's birthday pub-crawl, but I'd hope this took in the Smugglers!

It's a good weekend for me. Pete Wiggs djing last night (just about the nicest man ever), Spectrum tonight and sunday lunch followed by film club on sunday. Nicely sandwiched between two weeks of shit at work.

Definitely Spirit Of Gravity tomorrow P For Persia at Greenhouse Effect would be good, but we're really short of money at the moment. I'll add that Regular John and Trippin' Violet are also at the Hobgoblin on the Saturday, so hopefully make that at least.

We're gonna try and get over to Hastings tomorrow, and probably see Vile Electrodes in the Pig. Anyone who's not going to Gittins want to join us? Also, the band capital are doing some busked guerilla gigs over Easter weekend, if you chance across them. Should be Brighton tomorrow (anyone able to take photos?) and Eastbourne Saturday, I gather, although they may be in other areas at other times too. This is all to promote their Fierce Panda album, out next week, if you were wondering.

Am going to do the comedy thing, I think (well, watch, not do...that would be awful...;D)- are you over for the weekend, or just the night?

It'll be just for the night as Stu's now working weekends. If you enjoy the comedy you'd be most welcome over at the brighton show on 7th May - we've just got our tickets.

Yep, will just be Vile Electrodes for us, I think - then back to Brighton in time for Doctor Who...

For a variety of reasons (Stu's purple toe, the current economic downturn and the clash with Brian Gittins being some) I think we've pretty much decided to stick in Brighton this weekend.

Oh, I just mentioned my toe on the Pissed Off thread. It is very bruised...
I will now be passing through Hastings & St Leonards on Tuesday afternoon, mainly to see parents back from holiday, so I may pop by before I get the train back to Brighton - but I'll text & make sure people are around.
The rain stopped capital's Brighton busking today, I believe, if people were looking. They should be attempting it again in Eastbourne tomorrow though. Nick the singer emailed me secret plans for a Beatles-style rooftop gig too, but that's probably being kept under wraps for now (although if people, seriously, aren't watching Dr Who tomorrow I'm happy to text the details on).
